Bit weird that they are asking for people to express interest when there is already a paid waiting list in place. I would hope everyone on the waiting list gets offered first, regardless of whether or not they have taken the time to "express interest"

Well first thought.

Makes no sense whatsoever. Surely this way they will just attract ticket touts.
Rather than just contacting people on the waiting list and asking do you want a ticket.

But then got to thinking.

I know last time they got as far as people in the 30k mark before selling STs. A lot of people on the list have no interest in an ST.
So maybe just quicker for the club to ask the question to see who actually wants an ST.
Easy to track those seats if sold to touts anyway.
