Is this like where you post some stats for 10 games that you think support your bullshit Trippier theory, then it gets pointed out to you that not only do those stats not support your theory because he only played half the games, but the same stats extrapolated out to the full season actually prove you completely wrong?

Feel free to explain to me how a footballer with shit technique, who can't receive the ball under pressure without shitting himself, hides from the ball and points to others, doesn't pass much or with any intelligence, doesn't press much or effectively, doesn't tackle or intercept much is good for this team - especially when you called Tripper shit and a Champo player for allegedly having similar qualities ?
Give it a rest Blakey. We’ve sold Tripp’s, we’ve sold the worst player in our squad, the calamity is no more. It’s a time to be joyful, not a time to feel remorse. Let it go, it’s not worth clinging on, it’s only going to make it worse.

I know that this period must be hard for you right now but you can get through it if you focus on the future.

We are all here for you in these dark days, you are not alone fella, let it all out. But start with a positive action each and every day, aim to remove Frodo’s shrine in your bedroom picture by picture, no one is asking you to burn them, just put them in your empty shoe boxes and put them away out of sight.

In years to come when Guido has taught you what the difference between a good footballer and a bad footballer is, you can take them out of the loft, blow the cobwebs off and laugh at how blind you were.

Everything will be fine, think positive thoughts.

Trippier was so bad he ended up getting bought by UEFA’s fourth ranked team in Europe.

Not quite the championship move you predicted eh?

Let the healing commence Blakey, let it all out. Deep breaths, stare at the shrine and be brave, select your most treasured photo and spit on it, then pop it into the shoebox, close the lid and do the same tomorrow.

No, he was so bad that he was flogged to the highest bidder and still only attracted a measly amount in today’s market

See, there we go, your bullshit hypocrisy, you can slag off Trippier, a player who’s contributed more than Sissoko has over the last 3 years, but if I criticise Sissoko it’s “irrational”.

Lets see if we get 5 times what we paid for Sissoko and if the highest bidder for him turns out to be one of Europe’s best clubs eh?

The difference is, I have praised Trippier on numerous occasions, and would support him if he was still here. You are allergic to praising Sissoko, even when he is completely and utterly changing games

Wanyama GOAT

It's his footballing side that let's him down. As an athlete he's exceptional, as a footballing midfielder not so good. If he could just work on his footballing side of things, he'd be one of the best midfielders in the world

Still good enough for our side

Ask Poch

Just don’t ask that muppet Blakey
:pochbye:

Unfortunately, not being very good at football is a bit of a handicap for a footballer, no?
He is not good at shooting, crossing, long ball and decision making near goal.

He is very good at tackling, driving forward with the ball, shielding and 50-50 ball recovery.

Top defenders have similar traits and are called top footballers. As long as Sissoko is used correctly (like last season), he is a top footballer.

He was very poor the season before last, and then had a great last season. As long as he produces top performances consistently, he should be playing. Doing it consistently in a long season to me is consistent enough.

One season wonder? Till proven wrong, he shall continue to play.

If it isn't for his form last season, we might drop points and out of CL

Come on man, this is lazy shit that's been trotted out and debunked so many times. When you say "he is very good at tackling" you are just plain wrong on all counts. he doesn't tackle much (14th in our squad - 1.2 per game - same as Eriksen) and he is also clumsy when he does, just watch the mess he made of tackles against ManU last week. he doesn't press much or very effectively either (go check out the press metrics I posted yesterday in the Transfer thread). He carries the ball forward maybe once a game, and invariably just gives it away, again you only have to watch last weeks game to see this happen. His effective deep progression stats are piss poor.

Fuck knows what being good at "shielding the ball" means at this level, do you mean he's good at being big? because he's not good under pressure.

You need to go away and do some homework, and either back up your hackneyed cliches or stop spouting nonsense.

Sissoko is a great athlete and that's about it. He doesn't like to touch the football, you only have to look at how he tenses up when it comes towards him to see that. He is only comfortable with the ball when he is moving at speed and bulldozing past people, when he's standing still and has to take a smart first touch to evade pressure or start the play, most of the time he passes straight back. When he has to shoot he panics and kicks it into row Z almost every time.

His positive season last year was based around him running his lungs out and not much else, he doesn't play like a real defensive midfielder. He doesn't really anticipate danger or position himself properly, he just has incredible power and energy that means he can recover when people go past him or he sees a teammate who needs help. He game is very reactive, he is not like prime Wanyama/Parker who were always in the right place. He's always sweating bricks which is both a testament to his high effort and his lack of real football intelligence.

But this is not some revelation, both Poch and Sissoko have openly said that he doesn't have the same qualities as the other players in our squad and has to find a way to help the team using the skills he does have. He did that last season and he deserves credit for that.

Sissoko is an incredible athelete and has a very good brain. You can’t survive under a coach like Poch and have a poor footy IQ, see Andros Townsend.

His problem his is that his feet can’t match his brain to do the end product, but he’s a phenomenal counter attacking/transition player.
