Actually it’s always worth that reminder. Youth players do come good. But the example of Kane can’t be a hiding place and it’s fast becoming one.

At 18 Kane had started European games for us and throughout the loan spells it was always judged he would be a success, although not to that level of course.

Remember Kane made his debut alongside Tom Carroll and Ryan Friedricks. So there has to always be balance. What really became of them? Decent enough but no one in their right minds would want us to sign Carroll back from Swansea

Amos is no doubt talented. But the club PR around the guy is ridiculous, using him as an example as to how we will prosper without investment.
Whatever...but I'm getting sick of cunts running down our youth prospects just for the sake of appearing fucking clever...

haven't ever seen him play other than pre season appearances and the odd youth game but good luck to him.

Just my opinion but I think our coaches like that he enjoys a high tempo high press game. It's only a hunch but I think he looked like he was trying a little too hard in the early stages of the game but became more natural later on

By this I mean I agree that he showed a few heavy touches and a few of his early passes were a little over hit making it difficult for his teammates but there are clearly signs that he has the ability to spot runners and , at times, showed a good understanding of when to play short and long passes

But what do I know? I just hope the youth that are looking like they may at least have a role in the 1st 6-7 games through necessity to allow our full squad to not risk returning early and having further injuries do enough to not be the scapegoats for an inactive transfer window

That's all stuff that can be coached though.

That's really shit!
He probably wasn't gonna be a regular this season, but as long as we are still 'in the Cups' he was surely gonna get SOME match day experience... REAL shame.

I just hope he lives up to the classic footballer injury cliché, and "Comes back stronger" TM (C)

@Luke_Amos1 will undergo surgery next week after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament. The midfielder sustained the injury during Friday’s #PL2 win against Blackburn Rovers and the rehabilitation required means he will not be expected to return to action until next season.pic.twitter.com/kCcFhx17Dt

Pretty much confirms what we knew already, but a real shame for him just as he had got into first team squad.

Last couple of paras :

It’s a six to nine-month injury and I’m nearly six months in. At the start, I thought to myself ‘can I get back in six months?’ but the specialist said with the season ending in May, there was no point coming back for a couple of weeks when I can aim for May, June and then into pre-season training in July.

“Everything I do now is focused on the first day of pre-season and I’m working towards that when I get there, I’m not just in good shape but the best shape I can possibly be.

“I’m doing a lot on the pitch at the moment. I feel like a footballer again! I’m working with the ball, passing, dribbling, high-intensity running, twisting, and turning. The finishing line is in sight.”

Long read but worth taking the time.

"I’m honest with myself, this is a great opportunity and I’m here [at QPR] to play,” he says. “I’m not here to be a squad member. I want to be fighting to be the first name on the team sheet."

"I know, to get where I want to get to, I can’t afford to not train properly even for one day. I’ve got to aim for the top and it’s going to be tough to make it at Tottenham. I know who I am now, I know what I am ready to do."

"I might not be the real deal yet but I’m ready to kick on. I’m not afraid of anything.”
