nice to have in the team but think we need a more commanding forward. balotelli would have been great. possibly the other city one who was linked pre season. the brazillian looked like he might be the one but didn't go through. hernandez would give us 3 poachers / shoot in the box strikers. really feel we need some presence up there or at least someone who we trust. soldado still could be good but needs a good run soon.

In fact our whole pursuit of strikers makes little sense over the last few years.

Defoe is nailed on to be off within the next year imo

just turned 31 and will want to play week in week out to prolong his career in the top flight

mind you Ade's nailed on to be off soon to if things don't materialize for him on the pitch plus he hits 30 before seasons end to but Ade is always difficult to sell as he wants you to pay him to go lol
 
We need to stop trying to look for more players and start coaching so that we have something vaguely resembling a team, unlike the complete shambles last time out. A system for dealing with more physical 'British' sides (e.g. Spammers / Stoke) would be nice too. Hint: it involves Sandro and doesn't involve constantly hoofing the ball to our big man Defoe...

Shoot in the box striker? Have you seen Defoe play before?
 
Well he's already guaranteed a goal on Dec. 1st if this thread is anything to go by!
At the very least he'll play, and have a blinder... then we'll buy/get him on loan in Jan, and it'll be Ruel Fox all over again... you'll see!
