10 years ago, we spent £37,000,000 in the January transfer window and signed Defoe, Palacios, Cudicini, Chimbonda and Keane.

Nowadays that probably gets you one top player.

Yeah and now we have around 160 million in the bank waiting to be spent so we could buy 3 very good players

As we know TV money has gone through the roof since 2009.

Eder Milatio has a £36m release clause?
Would be out of the blue but the lad looks the real deal the way Sanchez did before coming here.

Also, anyone been watching the Portuguese league recently? I haven't kept up this year how is Bruno Fernandes doing? Watched him last year a bit and he looked like he could become special

Realistically, how much do we need to spend to mount a real challenge on all four fronts without the squad looking light or so called experts writing us off? We've been the third best team in the country over the last 3 years so what do people genuinely think the club need to spend if we are able to keep our best players?

Would 2x£50m players do the trick? Very tricky to know what is needed when we look at the team and what's out there

If we are going to be playing a 4-4-2 diamond more often then it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get another forward.

We seem to have interest in a few guys from the German league. Werner and then Leon Bailey has been mentioned before.

Hope we do make at least 1 cm signing this window, even if just a loan back. There will be a shit-ton of business to do in the summer and Poch/Levy are having a laugh if they think it’ll be easy to get it all done then.

Business we are needing to do. The free transfers of Vorm, Llorente & Dembele should none leave this window. Moving Janssen & Nkoudou on which is a must, Wanyama possibly moving on due to his injuries and the cloud over both Eriksen & Alderweireld.

With all of these looking more likely than not there's 8 players that potentially need replacing somehow, 5 at a bare minimum so a deal with a view to loaning back this month seems a wise thing to do.

The CM position is our weakest area so ideally need at least one in certainly top quality if serious about challenging plus another striker and the full back positions are a bit of an issue, but are we going to invest that type of money probably not so safe to assume that the club will seek young cheaper options.

Thursday the 31st will be a depressing shit show in here
The club cannot let go of Dembele and/or Llorente in January without getting a significant signing or two in the same month. Maybe in the past but- Not This Year if we are serious about anything other than being profit
