Because Pochettino looked lost and devoid of the ability to inspire..

As clear as day towards the end.

Well that seems to be what actually precipitated all of this. And apparently Mourinho and Levy have convinced themselves that they have a mutual understanding that massive investment is not required.

(There may be a further degree of confidence that Mourinho's arrival will mean not losing Eriksen and/or Toby to free transfers)

We'll see. I would be absolutely flabbergasted if this squad minus Eriksen and Toby (and maybe even Jan), plus Mourinho, plus tepid investment equals anything resembling a top 4 contender next season.

Get over what? I'm not wound up in the slightest.

Mourinho is on £15m per year + the salaries of 5 backroom staff (an increase of two personnel) (x4 yr deal =£60m + ??£10m backroom?? = £70m. + £20m to get rid of Poch and his staff = £90m), so not "making it up" fella.

Multiple sources (including the ones that broke Poch being sacked before anyone else) all stated that we had at least two other choices ahead of Mourinho. All I'm saying is if you are going to drop nearly £100m in making a change, then just pay the Club the compensation of your first choice.

They're saying today that we are staggering Poch's compensation over monthly payments for the period he is unemployed.
If he takes a job in that agreed period, he ceases to be paid that compensation.

They're also reporting Bayern Munich are considering him. If he were to take over at Bayern shortly then we may be paying his pittance.
Does that make you feel better?

Simple facts are, Poch HAD to go. Love him, hate him, it doesn't matter, the relationship was finished. 5.5 years was the longest stint in English football as at Tuesday. That's how football is.

What we're paying Moureen is confidential. £15m is from Twitter, the same place that was insistent Ancelotti was gonna be announced this week.
Take it with a pinch of salt. He's "only" on 3.5 years and it's unlikely he'll be sacked inside 2 years so any compo owed to him should be small.
Levy should consider renewing his contract with serious thought at any point, he's known for re-signing then kicking off and getting sacked.

Mourinho - wins the quadruple then takes a shit on Levy’s desk and gets fired after two seasons

Nagglesman takes over and wins more shit.

levy makes money.

Sol Campbell to take us up from the Championship as runners up.

you do realise one of the negatives with Jose is the '3rd year' issue. He's keen to prove everyone wrong with regards to style of football and promoting youth. He will also be keen to show the 3rd year thing is false. If it works out there is no reason he wont be here for a long time. His family live in London... huge club, huge salary, potentially large transfer kitty. Everything he is looking for. Also a club with an identity and soul

I like this thread. It gives me....hope.

Maybe this young No. 2 something Sacramento will be the next manager. Maybe we'll go English in which case have to consider the likes of Potter, Howe and Southgate.

Or maybe Levy and ENIC will sell up, the new owners bring back Poch and thus time give him all the backing he needs.

Maybe.

Sorry mate but at no point has he mentioned he's keen to "prove everyone wrong". The only people saying this are Spurs fans who are using it as some kind of emotional crutch to mitigate the downsides that are associated with him, for which there are many.
