It honestly doesn't matter mate, CORNERS ARE A WASTE OF TIME, they are are not goalscoring opportunities.
unless they are against us

"In the Premier League, Crystal Palace and Leicester City both conceded nine times from corners throughout the 2017-18 campaign, though Tottenham had the highest percentage of corners against them converted, with teams scoring from 4.38% of the 160 set pieces they gave away."

So, we defended 96% of the corners we faced. As I say corners are a waste of time, they aren't goalscoring opportunities.

Should we not shoot then as 87.5% of the time they are saved / missed (even higher if you include blocked shots).
Barca did have that time where due to their lack of aerial prowess would never take a corner normally and just take it short and continue dominating possession. However, yeah. We have some good guys in the air.

20% of the goals we conceded were from corners, but you think they're not relevant opportunities?
Scoring goals from corners hardly EVER happen (ave is 3%, that's 97% fail and the stat posted showed 96% of the corners Tottenham face do NOT result in goals, 1% below ave).

Another way to look at it is 5 corners per game = 20 games played before a goal is scored or 2 goals over an entire league campaign. Or look at it this way, all fans from all clubs moan at the quality of corners; "he can't beat the first man". If fans just listened to themselves.

Not relevant.

can i just get this on record - are you saying hat 20% of the goals we conceded in the 2017-18 season are not relevant?

97% of corners taken fail ergo they are not goal scoring opportunities.
which is about the same for shots outside the box, heading goals, free kick etc. If we eradicated all attempts that yielded a low return we'd all be trying to play like barca mate,.

In case you hadn't noticed, this is football, not basketball.

Corners are NOT relevant because of 3% result in goals (0.5% result in counterattacks that result in goals conceded directly from them).

Every team concedes goals, whether that's from a corner, free kick, throw-in, long ball or short ball. If the number posted above for us conceding four 4% of ours then we can improve but christ it really ain't a big deal, we are talking about reducing scoring 1 goal from a corner over the season to put us at average. They are shit.
