I`ve been on a social media blackout..Thinking back on the game, its probably our worse result since,i started watching spurs in the 80s.(LC semi 87 Woolwich apart)
We let a team that couldn't score against Villa, score 3 with 10 men.It was worse than the city cup game and I didn't really care because ,we had united away in the next round.

You deserve a wee punishment for acting like a cock on Sunday. If some lad not liking you on the internet is the extent of it, you'll come out the other end just fine.
acting like a cock - because I would prefer to see the good in Spurs rather than ranting and calling everyone in the club a cunt?

mmm - we have different boundaries over that particular definition.

I'm totally comfortable with the ground I stand on.

with anyone who thinks the tourettes option is the best way forward

The fear of Friday the 13th is called friggatriskaidekaphobia, any one know what the fear of Sunday the 15th is?

Not overlooking that at all - but during that game we still theoretically needed 3 points, so you can sort of forgive the team for trying to beat Southampton and getting hit with a counter on a boiling hot day.....that happens.

At Newcastle we knew from the start 0-0 was good enough and played with none of the defensive discipline we have done in 95% of our games this season.

That's the difference.
I cant agree...We were defensively bad against Southampton as much as against NewUtd IMO. The will to fight was gone in both games. I can forgive the team in both as they achieved CL football for next season. I understand the teams content just to finish the season because CL was secured. My experience of playing was that, second place was received with apathy. Who cares about second when the bigger prize got away. CL qualification was what it was all about and they delivered. The Woolwich business is nonsense unless its for 4th and 5th place then theres a reason to get above not 2nd and 3rd.

Read somewhere Mitrovic saying the tackle on Walker was made to look worse than it was and too much fuss being made!

Do me a fucking favour you cowardly piece of shit

Worst challenge I've seen since Roy Keanes' on Alfie Haarland

The difference being that Keane had a grudge against Alfie, stalked him throughout the game and deliberately tried to break his leg!
No excuse clearly but in his mind he had a reason

Mitrovic didn't and made that tackle because he is a cunt no other reason!

Some on here have suggested we sign him as an option to Harry!

:avbhumph:

still cant believe we let them overtake us again. 2 points in 4 games is unforgivable and goes to show we might be playing much better football but we still bottle it when it really matters.

On a side note that was one of the best weekends I've had following Spurs, couple of top nights out. These trips will never get ruined by what goes on on the pitch which is always a silver lining

mmm
So because there are a lot of people more prepared to bitch and whine, then you feel its OK to do so too?
Great, you "support" our club your way. Lets face it - it's "what a proper spurs fan would want."

I'm comfortable with my way. - ie being happier to see the good things that have happened, than to condemn the entire team, management and club for the one game where we fucked up. I wanted the one extra point JUST AS MUCH AS EVERYONE ELSE, JUST AS I WANTED US TO FINISH ABOVE THE GOONS!

All I have done is found a more personally satisfying way of dealing with the disappointment of the last day. Nothing I have said to you has been bullshit, just honest responses to what YOU posted, not full of straw man arguments like yours have been.

End of message. Not that you appear to have understood it.

You have your way of dealing with it and everyone else has their way, which YOU do not understand. Nothing wrong with your way but nothing wrong with mine either. Yes you have said a lot to me that's its bullshit. you wrote a detailed assessment of me as a person and fan when you haven't a clue. you think your way is right and everyone else who isn't like you, are wrong. You may just want to think about that a bit. Ultimately we all will continue to support the team but are angry over the hard work and effort being forgotten by the players just because they "didn't get what they want" Not just one game but two. Games can change and you can't win them all or may still draw or lose even if you do your best. We did not even bother to try to do our best. Who knows it could have an effect on next season to end this one in a disappointing farcical way. It's good you care if we finished above Woolwich. Good to see some passion in what you wrote.

Disagree. They were hitting us with counters for the entire half. How many times did vert get a difficult high ball. defensive line was way too high. Anyone could see the goal coming. Same at WBA. Tide turns after the break and we don't get that breakthrough. At Southampton the title was gone so winning won't change that so just shut up shop and get men behind the ball and play on the counter or just keep the ball. but we pushed too much and Southampton were happy to let us do that. Also think we need to change our style and get a bit more direct. Especially if behind in games in the last 15mins. We continue playing the same way it's very easy to defend when the opposition are happy to sit behind.

I do not care if we are in a position in the league where win, lose or draw we stay in the same position, we still should beat a team many places below us and certainly should not lose 5-1. It was the lack of competitiveness and pressing in the first half that was the problem. I have kept away like others from the Media but both Poch and Kane have accepted it as their worst performance.
Had it have happened in mid season we get over it when we win again. Now we have to wait until August.

Having calmed down a little since Sunday, there were 3 main talking points I think

1- that first half. It was as poor as I've seen Spurs for a very long time

2- their penalty at 2-1. We had them down to 10 men, were beginning to take shape, & the ref falls for the most blatant dive. I still think we would have got the point we needed had that not been given.

3- going 3 at the back to try & claw it back. It was a crazy move. It's as though 4-4-2 isn't allowed any more under any circumstances. Not keeping a back four left us open to Benitez's counter attacking set up.

But overall, once we went 3-1 down, it was desperate & always likely to end in a hammering because we had to go for goals & quickly. It's just a shame that the players didn't go out in the first half & put on a performance.

I've felt pretty disgruntled since Sunday evening, but the hangover is fading now. Time to look forward to the summer. And then we go again, hopefully with a stronger attitude, more experience & a few new players to offer legitimate competition in areas where we are lacking or have none.

Agree about the dive. Clearly was from the replays but the ref doesn't have the benefit of this. The question should be why was the Newcastle player in that position one on one with our defence all over the shop. Seems like we had thrown the kitchen sink forward but needed to be more patient and keep the score down and stay solid. Don't know why we took of walker and replaced with chadli. They literally exposed that space. We should not have needed to change anything tactically. We had the extra man, they had no out ball. At 3-1 it's over and we have no choice but to really throw everything forward. But the first half was unacceptable. but at 2-1 we were getting there until the odd tactical change.

The defence had got his run covered. He was going nowhere, knew it & dived. He would have carried on & scored had he believed for one second he had the legs to do it.
Agree about being more patient at 2-1 with time left on the clock, but we had a sniff of blood after Lamela scored, they were starting to flounder. Our inexperience then played its part by over committing too soon.
Bottom line is that cunt cheated though, & that won them the game as much as our piss poor first half.

I cannot understand this attitude. Don't you yearn with every fibre of your being to finish above those horrible bastards? Doesn't the St Totteringham day bullshit drive you to the point of insanity? Don't the 21 years weigh upon you like a ton of bricks?

For me it's like I've not had a wank for 21 years, was expecting to have one with an excellent stash of porn, then someone's told me I have to wait at least another year and probably won't be able to have one even then!

I suppose we all have our ways of supporting the team.

I hate them every bit as you and evryone on here. Its just a reality check for me. 21 years of what? Apart from a few seasons when it was close.
Yes, I would want to finish above them every season. It really hurts when they pip us to 4th spot religating us to 5th place and EL football. When we do qualify for the CL I dont care what they do (as long as its not winning the PL). This season I dont really care, I care more about us and our demise at the end.
