It's just the Voorm thing all over again.

Is it more the idea of bringing a player back that people have an issue with?

.....Would it be any more 'offensive' if we'd never let him go in the first place?

If our tactics from now on in are “second half in Amsterdam” then it’s not a bad shout. He’s a hard working target man and can create opportunities for runners like Lucas, Sonny and Dele. Worth a (small financial) squirt.

I think most of us would agree that he should have got another 12 months so I would be pleased to see him play for us again
He’d love the hoof ball

Imagine if this happens.

Liverpool address their defensive shortcomings in a January transfer window by spending £75million on Virgil Van Dijk .

We address our attacking shortcomings by bringing back Fernando Llorente on loan!!!!

And over in the Levy appreciation thread the usual suspects are saying we invest just as much in our squad as them.

Oh my fucking days!

But it's gonna save us money to get another loan!

Agreed.

If it comes with an out and out other striker then okay but as the one striking replacemement, it would be laughable and make us look third rate.

Because Liverpool were buying VdV as a back up to the 150m central defender that already had ... was that right John Dumbarse?

How much have Liverpool spent net on transfers during the Levy era and how much have Spurs spent net? go work it out if you can ... but I bet you can't, or more likely when you find the answer isn't what you think you won't admit it ....

We don't invest as much as they do because even a simpleton like you must know that when you only have an income of 280m (Spurs until 2017) then you can't spend 220m on salaries like Liverpool, who had an income off nearly 360m, were able to do ... well maybe you would but then you're an idiot so that doesn't really count.

FYI - since 1992 Liverpool net 329 million, Spurs net 180 million .... so over 25 years they've spent just 140m more than us despite earning almost 1.5 billion more than us over the same period, 140m wouldn't even buy one Harry Kane .... meanwhile Man City spent net 1,073 million pretty staggering

West Ham have spent more than us at 223 million net, maybe we should copy them as well ..... you're a big fan of other clubs so what do you think John?

At the end of the day; we are trying to rescue 4th spot for the season.

Criteria for a striker....

1. Is the player available?
2. Is he experienced and confident enough to hit the ground running?
3. It would be nice if he had EPL experience...
4. Within budget? We don't want someone demanding a 5 year contract on 100k a week
5. Happy to play second fiddle when Kane returns?
6. Is he happy to live in the miserable, cold, wet, dirty, crime ridden hotspot of London?
7. Is his agent not a complete pain the arse to deal with and demanding a 10m bonus for brokering the deal?
8. Suit the style of play? (We don't need another Moura/Son type player, we need someone to hold the ball up , win aerial balls and create space).

Looking forward to the extensive list of players we have to choose from :)

Welcome to the team Christian Benteke.

Is Behrahino not available?

That may be closer than you think ...............

Your post is a jumbled up load of nonsense mate.
Firstly, how many more times does Harry Kane need to break down for you to realise it's not a back up benchwarmer we need, but someone who can seriously challenge Kane for his place. .

Secondly your right, we agree. We don't invest as much as Liverpool. But there are people in the Levy out thread claiming we do. Go and take a look.

You then go on to talk about West Ham spending more than us, as though this somehow justifies the spendthrift ways of our owners.

You are forever painting this picture of little Tottenham. Like we're a little club punching above our weight. Like bringing back Llorente is the best a little club like Tottenham can hope for!!

We are the 10th richest club in Europe, mate. With a rich history and a huge fuck off support.

And the fans are starting to see through this charade now

Yep, to a large extent I agree.

I think you find exactly where you are and aspire to be as a club.

You recognise what you need to generate money. That's success of sorts, sponsorship, big stadium and supportive routes to increase even further.

You then have to spend to a level that makes all that even more likely to go up and up.

Part of it at a lowish cost at times is a Llorente or a cheap loan but the bulk has to be full reinvestment when you sell unsettled players or those who don't renew contracts

The big part is buy to your needs and with statements of intent.

We fall short every fcuking time on one or sometimes all levels.
