With just one pre-season match to go, against Espanyol on Saturday at White Hart Lane, Spurs played a behind closed doors friendly against semi-pro side Enfield on Thursday as they look to integrate some of their new signings.

Roberto Soldado claimed a hat-trick for Tottenham and Paulinho and Nacer Chadli also appeared for Andre Villas-Boas’ side.

The other scorers for Spurs included three from Gylfi Sigurdsson, two for Andros Townsend and Harry Kane respectively and one for Aaron Lennon.

Unreliable newspaper Metro have reported former West Ham striker Carlton Cole played in the behind closed doors friendly, but this has been rubbished by Enfield Town players questioned on Twitter.

Despite losing 11-0 and probably under instruction not to tackle too hard for fear of causing injury, the Enfield Town official Twitter account and some of the players clearly enjoyed their match against the Premier League side.

Its great for football that this occours, no elitism just getting practice that is needed. Enfield player reactions are too good.
