Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Real are redeveloping the Bernabau soon so I doubt they will be splashing the cash. And like someone else said Bale was their last big signing and that was 6 years ago( wow where has the time gone)

Real are more likely to tell Eriksen to sit tight at Spurs for 18 months and then they will sign him on a free. I don't see them paying the 80-100 mill being touted around
Vinícius Júnior was €60M and they just paid £35m for Rodrygo (17 year old) to come in, they have cash.

Maybe the club have offered him 200 a week and he doesn’t want it?
Maybe he just wants to leave?
Maybe he will renew.

Personally I think it’s vital we get into NWHL this season.....something like that could just give him that nudge and remind him of how big we are, and the magnitude of our plans.
Absolutely. Getting to new WHL should say exactly where we all want this club to get to. Could it have the desired effect with Eriksen? I certainly hope so.

It can't just be about the money otherwise I think we would have had this contract done by now. If he is to stay I believe he'd want to see the club invest more in the team. He must know we are close to success and does not want to see that chance or his chance of silverware thrown away by a lack of investment. I believe this team is capable of bringing that 1st trophy under Poch home this season and that too could have a bearing. But to take that final step and to win trophies consistently we do need to help Poch a little more regarding finances. I understand the stadium may have an effect on what we could do in regard to what we can or cannot do in the transfer market.

Signing Eriksen on a new contract is more valuable than any signing we could make at this time in my view.

because they kept on winning the CL and that's all they care about - IMO.

They have spent a shed load on younger players as well, they have been spending.
But they have always kept the conveyor belt oiled. Usually, the big player signings come as a consequence of a leadership battle to gain votes for the President but looks like Perez as learnt off Infantino on how to stay in the job. They've dropped big money for kids I give you that, I've no idea if they are good or bad buys as I've never heard of the players they are signing, assume there is a strategy behind this somewhere. But the question still remains where is the £100m-£200m signing that's promised almost on a monthly basis for 6 years since Bale??

Barcelona surely aren't after Eriksen unless they are pretty sure De Jong and De Ligt aren't heading their way?

Can you imagine Barca trying to shoehorn 5 CHs and 7 or 8 CMs into a squad?

Hi there:) Another dane here. I have been following this site ever since Eriksen made the switch to Tottenham and am only now offering some humble opinion to this saga. I will do as my co-dane did and try and weigh in on what is what and what is not (as if I in any way could know for sure - i do not;). However...
Firstly, I will be completely honest and state that my favourite club is and has always been FC Barcelona. I became a fan of them a year and a half before Michael Laudrup made his move into the team from Juventus. And well... Yes, i was completely sold on their breathtaking style of football, and it has been that way ever since.
I was born in England, on the Isle of Wight, and despite so many great english teams over the years, none have ever sparked any continuous feelings of the sort that Barca have (no offence intended). Hope you all will welcome me here
Tottenham made me fall in love with the Premier League when Eriksen made the move to WHL, and has since made me fall completely in love with the Club. I now have to loves in football, my first love, and my mistress.
Eriksen in many ways reminds me of Laudrup. Not the exact style of play, but his work ethic, his vision and his genuine and honest approach to the game - a gentleman's approach.

I have been torn in regards to Eriksen. On one hand i felt he was always destined for FC Barcelona, walking in the footsteps of Laudrup and maybe exceeding him (just maybe).
On the other hand I feel that he was the spark that lit up the burlesque in England for me, the place i could be naughty when my wife couldn't (or wouldn't) entertain me.

I feel about 98% sure, that should he leave, Eriksen will leave for one club only. My first love.
However...

What Spurs have achieved in such a confined space of time, has been marvellous and nothing less than stunning.
Hats off to Levy - he has indeed framed the "Audere est Facere".
Tottenham have become a real threat and a force to be reckoned with and a serious competitor for the biggest trophy's out there.

By now all you beautiful Yid Army Glory's should know that it is hardly the paycheque that is deterring Eriksen from signing the contract. He is playing for 70k/week - a fecking drop in modern football terms (disgusting for some either way i am sure).

Look at what is going on, and when i explain, i hope this makes some sense (it does to me).
Madrid are pundits favourites atm for Eriksen's. I would challenge that as a complete bucket of Woolwich!
What is true, and what has always been true, is that Eriksen doesn't make rash or sudden decisions (doesn't even do that on the ball). His move to Ajax was well contemplated, couple of years later he made an even smarter decision, much to the surprise of both the english and danish media. The money off Bale yielded a bunch of players, herein Eriksen, the only player from that €100mio to really be a success.
Why will he not go to Real Madrid? Because they do not have a plan and with key players rapidly ageing I just laugh this one off. As should all of you. They don't have a coach. They do not have the players for it. I fail to see the attraction to a player of Eriksen stature, it would be like starting over for him. And for what reason really??

The situation with Rabiot at PSG is extremely interesting, though. Long has the frenchman been on Barca's radar, but they are well aware of is antics at PSG. He is free to sign a contract with them now, Barca are free to talk to Rabiot and sign him come July should the wish to do so. So with all the talk and rumours, why hasn't he, or they?
Maybe the situation with Eriksen being out of contract in 18 months has changed something. The difference in quality of each player is just embarrassing for Rabiot. If Barca were to sign Eriksen this summer, i would just hand them the CL trophy for the next 4-5 years. No contest! Look at the players they currently have, look at what they have done in the market as of late and look at what may be on it's way in. It would just destroy anything out there with Eriksen on that team.

However, if Barca do sign, Rabiot. Then i feel very very relaxed in Eriksen drawing his John Hancock to pen a new deal for 5 years with Spurs. It just makes the most sense with Tottenham penning so many solid players and the coach, the new stadium etc etc. It would be the continuation of his own legacy at an honest and great club.
Honesty and humility have always been core values of Eriksen on or off the field of play. It would be down to a club and team effort, that truly deserves the recognition. Not fast money splashed but hard work.

So I therefor argue, that in essence there are only two possibilities. Either he goes to Barcelona to form a truly terrifying formidable force with Messi, Dembélé, Coutinho, Suárez, Busquets, Arthur, Alba, Umtiti, Vidal, Ter Stegen and probably Neymar, or, he stays put to try and reach the pinnacle with improving and beautiful Spurs.

I cannot see anything else happen.
If I'm right about the latter option - someone buy me pint when i come to visit.
Fair?

;)

Can't see who can afford him.

Can see the contract winding down.

Then our price would come down. Of course, everyone wants him to stay and it’s devastating if he doesn’t, but it’ll be worse if he doesn’t and leaves for nothing.

If he is to go, we need to get something for him and whatever that amount it MUST be reinvested back into the team. Even Liverpool allowed arguably their most creative player to go yet put the money back in, fixing two of their most glaring weaknesses.

Last night was one of those games that makes me wonder what all the fuss is about, and despite how epic he is on his day, there isn’t one position in the team that can be bettered bar Kane.

So as good as he is, it doesn’t panic me, because Lamela showed more heart fight ambition and skill in 2 minutes last night.

I agree that he wasn't very good last night, but overall we are looking at one of the best and most intelligent players for Spurs in the last decade and he is pretty unique as well, we are gonna miss him once he is gone, that is for sure.

So Moose is off for £9-11m. Let's go with the lower number.

We're offering Vorm who is on £62k p/w to several clubs.

If we can't find the money to offer Eriksen wages on par or a whisker away from Kane's then fuck me.

If he genuinely wants to leave because he always wanted to play at Barca one day then fair enough. He's been immense for us and a great professional.

The main thing giving me hope is that Poch loves Eriksen like he does Kane and Dele who got new deals. Don't think he ever had that with Walker or Toby (still hoping he signs though). If it's about money I believe Levy will back Poch over that.

The saddest part for me if he goes will be that lingering thought if we invested more in the team Eriksen would feel like he could win the PL & CL with us.
This is what people always talking about spending once we're comfortably in the new stadium miss- odds are we won't be so lucky to have so many exceptional players at the same time for a long while again.

Regardless, I hope none of us will be so fickle as to be dismissive of our world class wizard based on an off day like last night during one of the most hectic periods ever.

Talk about Madrid pancaking so much that they're thinking of getting Maureen back there again. Can't think that intelligent players would find that attractive, and Eriksen is nothing if not a smart, intelligent guy. Interviews very well.

Will say it again, if it's not Barcelona then he'll probably stay in the medium term. When he's 29/30, things might change again. He's not got lightning pace to lose (although no slouch), and he's not going to lose his touch for passing and shooting, nor his vision.

Eriksen is a superb footballer but of course he needs support.

Yesterday we were under the cosh for long periods and he was not at his best nor allowed to be.

We will be better served if he stays and if we win anything this season his contribution will be crucial.

You judge players over months and years. Not on one fcuking game.

It's not about the money, the player has so far not indicated that he wishes to sign another contract. If Chris walked into training tomorrow and said "I want to sign for another 5 years" then Levy would give him whatever he wanted.

We are in a Modric situation where the player is only looking at it from a sporting perspective. Are we the best club for Eriksen to spend his prime years? That is the question he is pondering. If he thinks he needs to leave to achieve his career ambitions then we will let him go, we don't need players who aren't happy to play for Tottenham.
