Eriksen has been at 10% or less. He's a hindrance to the team at the moment and is a real liability with the ball. 10 men would be better.

If that's all he does, might we well just use Winks. At least he tackles.

You just described Winks as well who people seem to love. The guys as pointless as Eriksen now.

Please leave. You're not a Spurs fan and not one Spurs fan gives one single, solitary fuck what an Eriksen fanboi thinks. Defending Eriksen because you're a Dane is like defending a peodo because he's your dad.
pahahaha. Couldn’t have gone with a slightly more savoury analogy

The comments in this thread are brilliant. He came on, put a corner straight in Foster’s hands, massively over-hit a through ball and didn’t do much else but all of a sudden he’s our best midfielder and was great when he came on today?

I know it is all a bit crazy. A lot of people on here accept that he is not putting in maximum effort but still want him to play. He should be nowhere near the squad let alone being put on the pitch. Can you imagine a player putting in less than 100% effort in days gone by? If the manager didn’t haul such a player off then players like Mackay, Perryman or Roberts would have physically removed them themselves.
He did ok today but that is all

Huge cock up here. £70-£100 million player being sold for peanuts. At a time when Champions League money has gone.

It’s gonna hurt somewhere.

Levy can’t win. He sells when Eriksen actually offered anything and he’s a terrible chairman for selling yet when he holds on he’s criticised for not selling at the time. Hindsight, eh?

He wouldn’t sign and the club didn’t want to sell him under last managers feet.
It’s not a cock up, it’s a carefully orchestrated maneuver by the player to earn more money for a free transfer, or at least, a pitifully low fee.

He could have handed in a transfer request two years ago.

Exactly this , if a player gets to 2 years on a contract they should be sold if they won’t renew , if the fans moan they can look back on this and then realise why we are selling them

He ain’t been playing like a £70-100 million player. Can he “up his game” again after so long treading water during games? I’m not so sure he can.
We have had our moneys worth out of him and that’s how I’d prefer to look at it. His best Spurs years are behind him. I just wish he’d sign somewhere abroad and go now. It’s a sad state of affairs when we are playing him week in week out because we should have his replacement bedded in by now or at least a new way of playing that doesn’t so much rely on someone with his skill set.
That’s what is hurting us as a club at the moment, together with not coming close to replacing Dembele with a specialist DM.

The minute he stalled on a new contract Levy should have acted but yes he’d probably been led to think Eriksen wanted time to think so gave him the benefit of doubt and that he’d sign eventually but it’s back fired Levy being as astute as he is should in future put a time limit on contract negotiations and make it clear when a player signs for us that when an improved contract is in the offing after his current deal he signs again or we get rid and get market value it can’t just work in the players favour they get well paid to play fair.

There's a sound logic to this and CE may very well prove a line in the sand for DL; but considering an average deal is 3 or 4 years, in many cases that will mean giving them a new deal after as little as 1 year.

The way things are now a contract means fuck all unless club, player and performances are all rosey.

When it became clear there was a chance he was going to lose a prized asset for next to nothing he should have acted.

He absolutely can win but here his got himself into a bad situation so now his trying to make the best of it.

100% right

He has never been a 70-100 million player. Those fees are either for the truly special players like Cristiano Ronaldo or because the buying club is run by mentalists, like Man United or PSG.

I agree he should have sold then but my point was those who are anti-Levy would’ve just used it as ammunition to criticise the chairman for not giving Poch the tools he needed.

Ask transfermarkt - have you ever considered that the hate against CE is founded in ignorance of what he contributes to THFC? I have. To be blunt - many fans are pretty ignorant when it comes to football - this goes for fans of THFC as well as fans of other football clubs. The professionals (coaches, players, staff) value CE very highly and consider his qualities to be unique in european football - maybe they are right? However it does not matter from a THFC perspective - he is leaving - probably to fight for the scudetto in Italy with Inter and next year to fight for the scudetto and the champions league title. Meanwhile THFC are trying to hold on to a midtable position. And that is not a joke...
