There are many good books to recommend, if they haven't been recommended already

here are a couple

Tottenham Hotspur The Complete Record - Goodwin

The Glory Game - Davies

Naturally reference books don't tend to be as up to date as the internet

http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Tottenham_Hotspur_FC.html is a fantastic detailed Spurs online record
Glory Game a great book. Didn't Hunter Davies support Spurs and Woolwich though? He had season tix to both clubs if I remember correctly.

Hi Devon, as Mr Timkins says, going to watch Woolwich and Spurs was done by quite a few football fans in previous generations. My dad was an Woolwich fan who took me both to the Lane and Highbury.

Before the era of widespread TV football coverage, if you wanted to see a game, you had to go to the ground.

Fans of different teams in the 50s and 60s could freely stand amongst each other (maybe avoiding certain 'hard core' areas of a few grounds as the game began to lurch towards the violence and rabid enmity that to was to besmirch it in the decades afterwards).

I was glad to have known that peaceful era of 'mixed support' and sad it will never return, in my lifetime anyway.

I'm a Master's degree student and I am currently writing my dissertation about Spurs and I'm looking to find a detailed history of the club and its effects on the local community.

Any one have any good sources or any good links/contacts (besides what is already on the website) that they could recommend?

Any fan's that have any stories about the club from the 1940's through to the 1990's would also be useful!

Anything people can suggest will be great!

Thanks.

bumping this thread, has anyone read Spurs Supreme? I'm looking for something like this for a gift, so any other recommendations would be great (I've taken note of those already listed in this thread).
