OK, I've given my opinion about Lamela and I'll say no more till something concrete comes out. To be clear, I actually do like him a lot as a character. Never gives less than 100%. But I do believe he may have some anxiety related medical condition. I'm not bashing him by saying this. It's just a theory to try and make sense of the information that's available. People have such conditions outside of football so why wouldn't they also exist inside the game?
Your life will be a lot easier on here if you pretend footballers don't have mental health issues, take drugs, get homesick, have addictions or serious injuries or are gay.
You can say for sure a player has or is none of those things but you can't guess he might be or do.
You can make up stats to say how good a player was performing too.
But then go on a rant about made up negative lies.

Fact is none of us know either way.
It may just be an injury or it could be something more than that.
Only time will tell.

Wouldn't be that surprising if he makes a few sub appearances at the end of the season or if he doesn't play at all.

I'd still take 15m for him. *runs & hides*.
Decent money for someone with a big question mark over them.
Equally, I'd sell sturridge, gundogan, andy carroll & wilshere as they are too injury prone.
Which would be a bad call if they then stay fit & play well. Same with lamela if he gets & stays fit & performs well.

Nothing is weird about it. Trust me if he has had nerve damage (during/following his back fracture) then having what feels like muscular strains and pulls without there actually being a pull or tear to the muscle happens. Just like a pull or tear you are unable to walk, put weight through it or have full range of movement, yet the reality is there is no muscle damage, no damage means it doesn't show up on a scan. I know this because this is what I've experienced first hand for the past twenty years. I also have soft tissue hip issues that not a single specialist has been able to properly diagnose, most likely cause is a damaged sciatic nerve which runs through the small muscles and ligaments in the hip.

So, because an injury doesn't show on a scan doesn't mean there isn't an injury. Unless of cause I have the same mental disease as Lamela that invents pain and symptoms of soft tissue complaints.

I'm not saying this is what is the issue with him, anyone that claims to know is a liar. I'm just stating a few facts about the possibilities of the problems that can be experienced. If he does have nerve damage then I doubt the club will not disclose this as he is likely to be stuck with it for the rest of his life, not good for re-sale values.

Do you also do loads of gear? :pochserious2:

I think what he's saying is you can pull any number of random stats to show how well or poorly a player is playing to support your argument.
Yeah that & also things like 5 lamela corners leading to goals.

I remember that guinness advert years ago that said something like 80% of statistics are made up on the spot. Or did they make that up too!

Three pages ago there was a post saying Lamela was training alone after a scan......widely ignored and the hysteria just goes on and on and on, and then in a minute someone will pipe up and claim there is no news on him. Again.

I heard he got caught snorting a line of Coke off of Pochs morning wood by Peter Shilton. He might just hate argies and their Coke habit though

Exactly. There are probably lots of footballers playing through injuries with injections etc, and maybe its a simple as Lamela doesnt want to do that. Should the club announce every aspect of his treatment?
Everything they do say is just denied as a cover up anyway, so it wouldnt even matter if they did.

Imagine if Ledley King didnt want injections, or cartilage removed.....we would have seen even less of him than we were lucky enough to as it was.
I guess some would have accused him of being a junkie though

Nah, he's still kicking around...

That's clearly a waxwork dummy... nobody's skin is that perfect!
...and don't be fooled by the furry hood, it's just there to cover up the join between his head, and the animatronic mechanism operating his face!!

It's his teeth that give it away - his dentist must love him.
