  1. Freundian slip

Match Spurs vs Chelsea. 6 Nov 8pm

I was convinced it wasn't even a foul initially, the slo-mo and all the commentary added to the hype. Although he's known for being a bit of an aggressive bugger, I think he was unlucky that enzo stood still rather than attempt to win it and Romero's studs hit his shin rather missing either side...
  2. Freundian slip

    Ex-Spurs Player Eric Dier

Yeah possibly, guess he just needs to get one of them firing, I've got more hope of Dier getting back to full fitness than Vic but who knows...
  3. Freundian slip

    Ex-Spurs Player Danny Rose

I don't think being able to tackle is the only skill a full back needs is it? Look at Arnold and Robertson, both get up and down the line all game, whip in dangerous ball, make space for others to get into, pin back oppo wingers etc etc...but yeah, tackling :mourthumb:
  4. Freundian slip

    Ex-Spurs Player Danny Rose

I go all the time and pay about a million pounds to watch us on TV...to be fair I might be bias though as I can't stand slow lumbering full backs so seeing Davies on the pitch makes me wanna cry.
  5. Freundian slip

    Ex-Spurs Player Danny Rose

Jan is amazing, best defender we have IMO but he's not better than Rose as a left back when both are having good games. I guess you've answered my question though...no-one to put pressure on Rose so he can get away with acting up and not playing well.
  6. Freundian slip

    Ex-Spurs Player Eric Dier

Don't you think he's looking a bit sharper each week in the prem though? Thought he looked terrible when he first came back and last night wasn't a fair reflection, up against three proper top midfielders with a half baked team around you and away from home = nightmare.
  7. Freundian slip

    Ex-Spurs Player Danny Rose

Problem is he's still easily our best left back (full back in general) so who's gonna play in his place? Form isn't great but he's not under threat as we don't have anyone coming through and haven't bought anyone decent.

  9. Freundian slip

Match UCL Matchday 5 - Olympiacos

Would love Sess to be our new left back but he's more of a winger, possibly a wing back so think that'll be a way off.
  10. Freundian slip

    Manager Jose Mourinho

Absolutely, Jose would never have been considered if there was still harmony and fight in the dressing room but as things stand he's actually the sort of character we need. People are understandably concerned he'll bring a toxic attitude and all that but Poch has already lost the dressing room...
  11. Freundian slip

    Manager Jose Mourinho

He'll love Son because he's an incredible player, not arsed about the other three, if they earn a spot then great, otherwise happy to see better players starting and coming in.
  12. Freundian slip

    Manager Jose Mourinho

Yeah have to agree, if he can get a bit of needle back into the likes of Dele then we'll start to worry teams. We've definitely got soft and all of us would like to see some fire back in the players.
  13. Freundian slip

Management The new poch out poll

We'd all take an Intertoto at this point...
  14. Freundian slip

    Player Giovani Lo Celso

    On the bench
  15. Freundian slip

    Ex-Spurs Player Harry Winks

True, at least then they could work out if he's capable of getting his sharpness back or is actually fucked and needs replacing...unless they already know.
  16. Freundian slip

    Ex-Spurs Player Harry Winks

His condition is definitely the issue, I actually feel a bit for Poch as he probably wants to start Dier but he just isn't at the races. He doesn't have an alternative so has to keep playing Winks who isn't a natural in that role. Unfortunately Dier isn't going to get sharper unless he plays so...
  17. Freundian slip

    Manager Mauricio Pochettino

I don't think he's that bad but he's definitely not a DM, always gets caught on the ball in dangerous places, lacks the strength and experience to retain the ball well enough. He might become a good DM but for now he's not the answer, though I suspect Poch knows that but hasn't got an alternative.
  18. Freundian slip

    Manager Mauricio Pochettino

I think they had to go narrow to shut off the passing lanes in the middle of the park, then you just shuffle across to deal with a switched ball. It's not a terrible tactic and worked reasonably well but we just kept giving them the ball back and that was our biggest undoing.
  19. Freundian slip

Match Liverpool VS Tottenham Hotspur 2019-10-27 16:30

The major difference in the teams yesterday was the full backs, they were progressive, strong in the tackle and always a threat from crosses. In contrast we just kept smashing the ball back to them which is OK once or twice but you have to try to retain the ball and draw fouls to relieve...
  20. Freundian slip

    Match Tottenham Hotspur v. Watford - 19.10.2019 @ 3 PM

I think Poch wants to play Davies because he's a good defender but he's so bloody slow it's just not feasible, most top wingers/wide forwards these days are lightning quick and he just can't live with them. Rose has a bit more speed and while he can make mistakes we need a bit of pace to support...
