Dissapoiting to lose but nothing to worry about. For most of the game there was nothing in it, although again it felt like a game we could have won but ultimately lost against a top side. Think playing most of the second half with two centre-backs at wing-back because of the injuries really had a big effect on us.
We have some great players. Our best player was not playing tonight.
We missed Grealish. You can't keep fouling Bell and Jack.

I just don't get all the doom and gloomers that come with England. It was a friendly, played mostly at a friendly pace by players who don't want to get injured, and we lost by a late tap in that was borderline offside. A decent enough effort considering we were without Kane, Saka etc.

You'd all have been better off watching Campbell Hatton's fight vs James Flint - a lot more entertaining than anything England can drum up in a friendly...🥱

Rinse and repeat mate

We were expected to well beat this Brazil team and we had three shots on target all game.

There's only so many times you can play the "We were unlucky" card.

Who expected us to well beat them though? It was never going to be anything but a close game to anyone who knows a bit about football. They were missing a few players as were we.

Positives

- Bellingham is that guy. Just so dangerous.
- Thought Mainoo looked silky.
- Rice. Class.
- Stones .. again, class.
- Gordon looked good.

Negatives

- Boring. We’re shit at creating clear cut chances from open play.
- Stones’ partner. Both Maguire and Dunk are questionable.
- Foden just doesn’t do it for England.
- Gallagher and Chilwell crap.

We are what we always are. A keep it safe side. Southgate hopes individuals or set pieces will push us over the line. It might be enough if everyone is fit, but he’s uninspiring.

Doesn't make any sense.

These pointless friendlies are exactly the type of games you should be trying out the likes of Branthwaite too.

Winning these games is too important to Gary....... Stat padding is what keeps him in the job.

He throws around the phrase "Prestige friendlies" too. 🤮

........He thinks beating Brazil in a friendly is beating BRAZIL.

Agree with most of that. I genuinely think Stones is now the most complete defender in Europe. Foden was fine, we just didn't get him on the ball enough. And when he moved centrally it coincided with subs that weakened us. Can't expect him to perform miracles if you don't get the ball to him.

They’ve lost their last three. Brazil aren’t that good anymore. Their backline and goalkeeper are not strong at all.

We didn’t get at them. It was slow and predictable and cautious. Utter crap from open play.

You’d hope Saka/Kane make a difference but ultimately we play dull football. This manager values caution over anything else.

Dunk cost us when he came on not just with the goal but he looked slow and arkward. Braithwaite has been IMO up there with Van Dijk, VDV, Saliba this season, he is an absolute monster defender, I can’t figure out why we didn’t use him, when he goes to Madrid or United for 70-80m in the summer will we use him then.

And they have a new manager that brought that new manager bounce you often see. Form goes out the window. We were also without our best striker by a country mile. It was never going to be anything other than a tight game. They edged it in the end.

Really fucking annoying Dunk came on when we have Branthwaite.

I wasn't aiming it at you personally. But I genuinely don't know anyone who realistically thought we were going to win this game comfortably.
Course not

If you'd seen the build up all week, we were expected to win. They were already saying we shouldn't read too much into it if/when we beat them.

We're favourites for the Euros FFS - God knows why, you'd think people would learn.

We got to the final & then penalties in the last tournament and then only went out of the last World Cup to France by a narrow margin. We’ve since then got a more talented team.. there’s good reasons for us to be favourites.

It shouldn’t be a tight game. Their backline and midfield are poor. To not test that keeper at all at home is a fucking disgrace.

We were shit. We need to hope it’s because pointless friendly and missing players because playing like that would see us go out in the quarters at best.
