Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

As a sidenote... I noticed that after going 3-0 down, West Hams 2 goals came in the 73rd and 90th(+) minute... exactly the same TWO times (73 & 90) as when Newcastle beat them 3-2 after going 3-0 up... just sayin...
#CONSISTENCY!

In the first half Dier received the ball 32 times, in the second half 14. In the last 36 minutes he received the ball 6 times. Those numbers back up what I am saying. None of those numbers (even the first half) are indicative of a player who particularly wants to be on he ball, but the drop off is absolutely stark and shows a player actively hiding because pressure is on. And it was a similar story for Winks 30/16/10.

You will argue that we as a team ran out of gas, but it's at best a 50/50 scenario - one of the reasons we ran out of gas was, as you said earlier, we lacked players who wanted to take the ball once the pressure was on, and a massive part of that is the midfield, if the midfield stops wanting the ball there is no way out but to whack it long, and wait for it to keep coming back, there is no conduit. And this has been Poch's biggest flaw in the last 2/3 years - asking CM2's with people like Dier and Sissoko to be conduits from defence to attack - players that don't want the ball under duress and don't pass it well when they are not.

As I said yesterday (and again in my reply to you above) there were options, like Lo Celso, that could have helped this, helped the midfield out.

What Mourinho did do better yesterday immediately was simplify the format, simplify the instructions and remits players were given within that (which I alluded to in my post yesterday - and he mentions around 6 min into ArtyB's vid on page 115). I also liked the vid above where we see Mourinho's more tactically pragmatic (but smarter for our players) one FB pushed up not both approach, with the quick Sanchez on the right side where Aurier (also quicker and more energetic than Davies the other side) was pushed up more often. Immediately we are seeing a coach with a better tactical intuition, better marrying personnel to a tactical format and tactical application.

I made it Dier receiving ball 33 times 1at half and 13 2nd
Call me picky

Guess whose contract we just renewed

to be fair we where all saying it on this very forum a few years before they moved in. Only an idiot could think the OS without being rebuilt would make a workable football stadium.

remember reading that article as well, can’t say they weren’t warned.

Might be a bit controversial but I distinctly remember the morning it was announced that Spurs would not be moving into the Olympic Stadium. It was the on-sale date for the Scum game and I was queuing up for a bacon and egg roll in the cafe by the old ticket office. When I heard it being announced on the radio I let out an almighty cheer, and to my surprise I was alone in letting my elation be known. As weird as it may seem now when we have the best stadium in the world, a lot of fans back then did seem in favour of the move.

It was a fucking cold morning as it always seems to be when Scum tickets go on sale, and I was tired as fuck having been up since 4am, but i grabbed me a couple of seats in the Park Lane lower.

always found that strange, Of my Spurs supporting friends none were in favour but I kept hearing about fans who wanted the move, not sure why, I guess the whole ‘next level’ marketing bollocks or something.

He certainly won’t play as much under Mourinho, but will be an important squad player

We were never moving to the Olympic Stadium though, we would be on the site of it - but with a stadium similar to the one we have ended up with. Yes, it's far better to still be located where we are, but either way we were going to be in a much better situation to West Ham.

I have not been over to their stadium but West Ham fans I speak to are only slightly more pissed off with the stadium compared to the location. There were a lot of people who were happy to move to Stratford as they thought it would offer better transport / "match day experience" which hasn't been the case for West Ham*

* This is comparing to what the porno cheapskates have managed to offer up, we would probably have invested in this if we did move.

Imo, it's the stadium above everything else.....just so budget

If we are completely honest WHL isn't in a 'good' location.

I am just repeating what the West Ham season ticket holders I have spoken to have said, Wembley +100 on the way home and nothing near for pre game (its better in the summer).

WHL isn't in a good location but I am not sure I would prefer Stratford as there is fuck all around the stadium, you are treated like scum on route (banned from entering Westfield's) and the "better transport links" have not materialized

*I never want to move from Tottenham, just looking objectively.

Well my experiences of Stratford:

Saturday - stopped at a bar on the way back to Hackney Wick, very easy to get served. Were several other Spurs fans in there with no issues.
Midweek game last season - was home (to New Southgate) 45 mins after the final whistle, when at the same time it was taking 2 hours to get home from Wembley.
Previous weekend games - beers before in Westfield with no issues, and then Central Line straight back to Liverpool St to drink there.

Location has always been absolutely fine, and our games vs them are as busy as it gets.

i sometimes wonder what would be worse, the olympic stadium at upton park, so we still have the same great matchday experience for the most part but are in a ***** rented bowl miles from the pitch, or the boleyn ground in the olympic park, so we have the ***** matchday in a sterile corporate wasteland, but at least we get to watch football in a proper ground.

I think they might like the place more if they won some matches there.........four on the bounce for us
