Agree, but there's not a great deal we can do about that. We just don't have an especially good midfield at the moment.
What midfield do we have that doesn't get bullied?
We're awful with a back five and we're not up to much in a traditional 4/4/2. It we stick bodies in midfield, we'll just end up holding on to the ball in our own half and getting pressed into a mistake (Brighton).
What I saw tonight was us moving the ball quickly for the first time in months. I also saw Sissoko doing very little other than patrol the back line and immediately give the ball to Ndombele. You're 100% right - any good team there won't be the same space - but we could even hook Dele for Moura and genuinely play on the break - make use of the space behind the oppo back four rather than try and play in front of them.
They must have been part of the unofficial away end in the corner of the upper tier in the north stand.
They were like a bunch of ants at the start of the game heading to that corner. The stewards just stood around them and created a segregation because there were too many to try to move. Crazy really and fortune we was winning I think.
I could see there was the usual“delegation” trying to blend in with their red tracksuits in the west stand

I don’t get the hate for Winks. I am an a Poch fan but Winks has been misused. He is clearly a number 8, a number 8 who like Kane looks good when used right (example England team).
He gets played in the 6 role and his skill set is to recycle possession which he does brilliantly well yet is expected to be some kind of Roy Keane destroyer and also a creator at the same time.
we have 3 number 8’s in Sissoko, Winks and Ndombele. Play them number 8 and they play well, issue is Poch has screwed the tactics for sometime and we don’t have a performing DM at the moment to create midfield balance.
Wanyama legs have gone and Dier is average, sort out DM and we sort out midfield.

You should tell him that. I'm not sure he remembers him either. He doesn't even look up or even consider moving the ball forward anymore. His first instinct is back. It just is. It's now become a tic it's so bad and predictable.
And having watched most of NDombele's games from the previous 2 seasons I can assure you your statement about switching them is wrong. I like Winks and think he definitely has a career here but he does not bring to the table what NDombele brings. Now if we could only get NDombele to bring Wink's workrate to the table then we'd have a player.
Not surprised by the result, the team selection was spot on and the team that should played week in week out. Eriksen toby rose are done. Sissoko is now a quality def mid. He has limitations on the ball but excellent defensive qualities. Ndombele will be top drawer, needs to play every week. Dele is a 10 nothing else. Davies should be left back every week

Winks would be fantastic for mid table teams. Not good enough for us.

Not at his best this season but not a good season for anyone so I think he’s worth persevering with but as I said earlier in the thread he shouldn’t be playing in the same side as Sissoko
