Unfortunately with the new stadium and now much publicity it is getting including the rail seats the club may feel it has to be seen to be doing something despite the fact this goes on all over the country every weekend.

I love standing as much as anyone but if a steward came along and asked/told me to sit down then I'd do it grudgingly.

What else can you do if you want to ensure you don't get kicked out?

....I gave up joining in with 'stand up if...' songs before the end of the first half. With so few joining-in in my section you're just asking for it.

Actually, you're right.

Whilst it's not illegal, the club CAN throw you out if you refuse to sit. (At any ground in the Prem)

Which just makes the whole confusing.
Also what is persistent? There are people complaining that they can't see when we have a chance. Next step is everyone locked to their seat. No standing even for a goal.

Tis true I was thrown out at the old ground when I stood in east stand top row no one behind me!!
When I protestested that the whole Park Lane had stood for the whole game I was told Haringey council insisted on a few ejections per game to keep health and safety authorities happy!

Sorry, but F all the sit down wankers. I weep because you have a bad back and picked a seat in an area where everyone wants to stand. I am not going to get very nuanced on this one. Just F you.

I jest. 😊 Just peer through the gaps in the fans

I'm glad i made the effort to read your spoiler.... I had been devising plans to drill peep holes in the back of peoples heads.

...and there's the punchline, right there.

Only a matter of time before the ground is made up of 57k popcorn eating half and half scarf wearers/and corporates, 3k away fans and 2k undesirables like me.

I think my days are numbered.
My last day is v west ham as you know mate...im done ..saw the shiny new place and very nice it is too. !..needs a rabid intimidating audience to get full value..the sound of munching popcorn and kids laden with full sugar fizzy pop aint what is meant .

Not so sure about that.... That's like assuming that whenever someone gets a kicking from a bouncer that they were "asking for it".

At the old gaff I'd had to verbally fight to stay in the stadium (merely for standing.... Yup, that song!) on a couple of occasions.

TBH, I think the big diff. here is more people standing cos they convinced themselves (incorrectly) that it's ok now; meanwhile spotlight is on the club/new stadium and they feel they need to be seen to react.

I’m only saying it because I saw it kick off and a few were taken out. Not saying who’s in the right or wrong.

I think that's a little over the top. Standing at certain moments are one thing but standing during the entire game is totally different. I don't wish to stand for 90mins but there times when naturally I do but sit back down after.

Thank god we’ got a trust to communicate these issues with the club and that spent the last few years ironing this out......oh wait, that’s right, it was more important to moan about prices and a once in a lifetime game at MK

Don’t worry everyone can sit down, and maybe a happy clapper on every seat.
Clearly the club thought the City crowd was a tad too riff raffy and loud.

We can always play that drum over the PA again, maybe bring that band from the concourse into the South Stand and get people to have running man dance offs.

As long as you stay for two hours after and ploug money into the bars, after taking a right hook from one of the clubs stewards for celebrating a goal for too long.....some cunt with a puppet behind you can’t see the pitch for his funny YouTube video you see.

Will be lovely to have West Ham sing us under the table and mug us off....at least our world class acoustics will show the whole world how loud they were. I wonder if they will be allowed to stand? Hmmmmm

And in the summer we can go and watch some cunting Yank shit with some cunts called the something Rams vs the something Pheasants, and eat corn dogs and whoop and high five.

Inspired by Dortmund they said....hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

The club aren't helping themselves granted, but how much of that is just the broader game; at this level, in this country - rocketing prices, drowning in regulations for stadiums and fans, commercialisation/SKY etc.

Sadly the Dortmund experience was never truly on the menu.

Whoever gets a revamp next (Everton?); stadium structure aside,, they'll all be bemoaning the comparative sterlility of it all... WH just got hit with the double w(h)ammy of shit vibes and shit gaff.

I'd saved my rant from the match/stadium threads; but eventually let off steam in this thread for obv. reasons, but I'd say the main thing that the club can - and likely will do (as long as enough of the right kind of noise is made) - is to re-jig the seating plans and let the ST-s re-choose.

Cut to the chase: Just get all the footy heads together for fucks sake.... THEY want it and seemingly NO-ONE ELSE wants them! Re-create the proverbial cheap seats and let's move on.

Maybe our future atmos relies on divorcing the 'parklane' rabble from the 'shelf' and sticking them back next to the oppo on the new 'paxton'???

Either/or.... The overall numbers/ticket situ surely wouldn't be affected that much?

Elsewhere, one thing I can't help but note however is the comparatively aggressive emphasis on drinking. How does this not completely contradict the whole 'family' values shtick demanded of us/the game? ...To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't want 'my' kids around thousands of 'me' when I've a skinful (#NoPedo).

....The above plan, would at least increase the likelyhood that we'd all be at the same bar.... BOOM: Pop music and balloon animals for everyone else. 'Utopia.'

From what I could see on the TV South Lower was still allowed to stand on Saturday. That’s 7,000 people or round about, still considerably more than the old Gaff. Don’t get me wrong I love standing all game myself but don’t think in the modern era getting 17,500 wanting to stand is likely. Giving the pricing structure too maybe fans from other areas have re-located to the South who aren’t standers.

Allocate however you want; standing didn't suddenly become ALLOWED.

Stand/Sit is moot; a red herring. THST brings that moan to the club and they won't get 5mins....... The important thing here is re-uniting like-minded fans on the terraces. If that means sacrificing the big 17k stand and letting it become a big wall of wankery, so be it.
