Fortunately however that seems to have absolutely died. I'm not sure when it happened, but whenever I fire up a competitive multiplayer game on Xbox now it's dead silence in chat.
People forget players are human. Janssen told he was not wanted on transfer deadline day, do you want to go on loan to Brighton without any consideration for his personal circumstances. Players including Trippier wondering all week if they will get a game. It is ok for the likes of Kane who is guaranteed a starting place but Trippier fought to get the number 1 place with Walker and thought he had achieved it and then the club bought Aurier. He probably is very insecure at present wondering how many starts he will get. Then these idiots make these comments. It can only increase his insecurity which if picked could result in him playing under stress and having a poor game.

It's variable depending on the player, however. There are many, many top level athletes that feed off of negativity and use slights, perceived or real, to fuel their competitive fire.

The rise of e-sports have lead to a clamping down on such behaviour. Effectiveness can be debated but it could be seen as a factor, at least in the way that some kids/people that game tend to take it more seriously in hope of going pro and thus have no time to chat shit

It honestly shocks me that anyone would write those things about Trippier, a player who has only ever given 100% for the club and has always been respectful to us.
I can understand it more when a player has been disrespectful e.g. Rose. Still wouldn't do it myself though (and not just cause I don't know how to use Twitter)- not my style.

Agree wholeheartedly with the general consensus on here... social media is the 'vehichle' many people live by nowadays, and it's also the same vehichle that will see many of them crash and burn eventually.. .
It's become a 'necessary' and unavoidable part of daily life now...
I guess it has a bubble... and will most likely pop at SOME point...
But I think (and this is my opinion) that most people would hope they could do without it... yet many will have a sneaky look occasionally "Just to check" the rest of society is being ruined by it, and satisfy themselves that they'd never become so dependant, over reliant or obsessed with such a medium!!

If people on here have twitters maybe write something nice on Trippier and Sissoko's pages please, just so they don't have to read a sea of stupid comments from idiots.
These are 2 of our most dedicated players, Trippier never got down or spoke shit when he was 2nd to Walker, he got his head down worked hard and did a great job when given the chance.
Yes he makes a mistake but who doesn't. How many pens does Messi miss.
And Sissoko, haven't heard nothing bad from him, a player with a supposed bad attitude. Nothing but hard work and effort, he started preseason training on his own before the rest of the squad in the attempt to get himself fitter and more ready for this season, and you know he actually looks pretty decent.
Certainly looks like he will offer us something different, that could alter games in our favor.
Its nice to see him playing with confidence, it would be a terrible shame for any abusive comments to ruin that. This is without a doubt the best squad we have had in years I just don't understand why these mugs want to undermine that and throw abuse at people, its bizarre.
