Spurs have once again received praise from various quarters after what has been another good season for the club. They have, however, once again come in for a bit of stick as they could yet finish the campaign empty handed when it comes to silverware. Spurs look to have another Top Four finish in the bag, but they could yet finally get their hands on a trophy, by winning this year’s FA Cup.

You could say that Spurs have done well in a season where they have had to play their home games at Wembley. They’ve also had to deal with off the field issues surrounding the likes of Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld too. They could yet finish as high as second in the Premier League should results go their way, but winning the FA Cup would be the real icing on the cake.

It would first of all stop the naysayers in their tracks who have criticised both the club and manager Mauricio Pochettino for their failure to win any silverware over the last few seasons. It would also help to really put Spurs on the map as a force in English football and it would also be a great boost for them as they get ready to begin their journey at their new home.

Spurs certainly have a great chance of winning the FA Cup too. They face Manchester United next, with Chelsea likely to be the team awaiting the winner in the final. Spurs will fancy their chances after beating both United and Chelsea during their current 14 game unbeaten streak in the Premier League, in which they have managed to win 11 games. The general consensus at football betting sites such as Unibet, is that Chelsea will win the tournament priced at 1/4 favourites. However, Manchester City’s three losses in a row has proven that anything can happen in football.

There is no doubt that Spurs have proven themselves not only capable of regularly qualifying for Champions League football, but also capable of winning silverware is going to be a much more attractive option for players in Europe too. This will benefit Pochettino and the club when it comes to signing players as they are much more likely to be up for joining the North London team if there’s a chance to pick up a few winner’s medals, as well as playing in Europe’s elite club competition.

It could also be beneficial to Spurs when it comes to contract renewals too. There have been a few issues surrounding players renewing their deals at the club over the last few years, largely down to the salary they receive when compared to players at rival clubs. If reports are to be believed that there are good bonuses on offer for players if they are successful, winning the FA Cup this season would make them more inclined to put pen to paper as they will know that silverware is a realistic possibility.

Last, and certainly not least, lifting the FA Cup would be great for the Spurs fans too. They’ve watched their team progress over the last few years superbly, and it would really help to reaffirm just how far the club has come recently. Heading into the new campaign at the new stadium, with Champions League football and an FA Cup to defend would really be a great way to kick off 2018/19.
