Weird how people see things differently. I haven’t enjoyed watching Spurs for ages and, were it not for Bale, I cannot think of a single game we’ve played well for 90min since Harry left. I thought AVB was tactically inept, playing 4321 relentlessly, whether it works or not, refusing to play 2 strikers and ignoring Ade altogether. I found him totally confusing, from the starting lineups & the subs he would make and virtually every thing he says is a contradiction. I supported him & wanted him to succeed so much but it got increasingly more difficult. People talk about AVB’s ‘record’ but AVB got SO many lucky breaks on the pitch it’s unbelievable – so many games where we’ve been 2nd best but got a win thanks to a lucky penalty or a Bale stunner. I don’t think AVB ever really won the respect of his players and his treatment of Ade & BAE was all part of this. He couldn’t handle the ‘big’ players with ‘big’ egos, so he simply abandoned them and consequently stripped all the characters from our side. I heard so much about his supposed tactical nous and I never saw it once at Spurs. The same system, home & away, no matter what &, if he did switch it, it was invariably the wrong option at that point & far too late (Liverpool being a perfect example).

AVB nearly had me believing, but I really think he is totally clueless. I personally thought his sacking was the best thing that could’ve happened to us as we were only going backwards under him. Whether Sherwood is the answer, I’m not sure. However, as painful as losing to WHam was, I actually enjoyed watching Spurs for the 1st time in AGES! Against Southampton it was better still. I simply do not believe we would ever have seen such an attacking performance under AVB as we did in that 2nd Half v The Saints. We played with pace and threat and looked like we really wanted to win, & I just never got that impression under AVB. I’m stunned that any Spurs fan, having been subjected to over a year of dull football and an increasingly turgid manager, could really dispute Levy’s decision. I feel like we’re getting our Spurs back now.

You guys do seem to have a real loyalty to AVB & I don’t really get it. As far as I’m concerned, Walker has gone backwards, Adebayor went backwards, Defoe has gone backwards, Lennon and so on. He then tried to get rid of Daws, got rid of Huddlestone, Caulker and loaned out Carroll and Livermore. He seemed to try & blame Baldini too, but AVB was the one who pushed for Baldini!! Yes we missed some targets, but he signed some great players and AVB has gotten NOTHING out of them whatsoever! All the targets AVB apparently wanted are all players we went for first & we were very close to getting &, as I said, the players we got instead are quality. I think it’s pretty shitty of AVB to question that, especially so publicly!!

I’m also pretty sure you’re confusing Sheringham & Sherwood when talking about comments over Hoddle and whether he is Spurs or Arsenal, but I could be wrong!!

    It’s all opinions after all!

Happy Xmas y’all! Come On You Spurs!
