The Fighting Cock is pleased to announce its support for ‘Everybody Dreams’: the song for Tottenham, due for release on 19 August 2012.

Concerned by the negative images of Tottenham dominating the national and international news last summer, students from Gladesmore Community School in Seven Sisters felt compelled to act. They’ve created a campaign to show the positive side to the area where they live, learn and love. This has culminated in them writing, producing and promoting a song that ‘flips the script’ and shows Tottenham in a positive new light.

‘Everybody Dreams’ already has a string of celebrity endorsements, including Ricky Gervais, Dave Stewart, Tim Westwood, Jennifer Saunders, DJ Spoony and Aston Merrygold (JLS). It even has backing from Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, while Mayor of London Boris Johnson has called for Londoners to make ‘Everybody Dreams’ a summer number 1.

This Monday, on the first anniversary of the riots, Tottenham came to a complete standstill as over 100 students, together with teachers, parents, the police, footballers, politicians, local traders and members of the public, poured onto Seven Sisters road for a Flashmob, filmed as part the official music video.

See a taster of the Flashmob video, produced by award-winning north London youth media charity, Exposure.

“Forget about what you’ve heard, forget about what you’ve seen. We’ve found a place to be, where everybody dreams.”
