Hey all,

My name’s Colin and I’m from Saint Louis, MO, USA. My routine surrounding watching Spurs hasn’t always been the same but its somewhat interesting (to me at least). I got into the Premier League around 2004 through a high school friend who was a Celtic/Werder Bremen fiend. He suggested I start with English football based on my personality I suppose – intense, fast paced, full of drama but not like Italian drama. I feel stupid for typing that sentence but anyway, one of the first few games I saw was the 4-5 against the scum. Its ridiculous but I fell in love with Spurs almost immediately. I moved to the inner city in St. Louis at 19 after dropping out of college and worked next door to a pub that showed almost all Premier League games. A typical Saturday (even if Spurs weren’t playing) would involve me showing up at the pub for 9 am (3 pm) games and having breakfast before my shift next door that started at 2 or 3 pm. Quite often this included getting loaded (especially if Spurs played and lost that day) and then having to sober up before work, not a fun situation haha. When the restaurant I cooked in closed, things changed. I never had cable access and watched on shitty illegal feeds for about 2 years straight as my work schedule and location had changed and it wasn’t worth my trip to this bar to watch Premier League games.

I moved back into my childhood home after a series of problems involving a serious car accident (sans-insurance) and loss of a job. Since then, things have been easier as far as Spurs are concerned. I’m back in school but I’m also working 40 hours a week in a kitchen and making enough money to pay for Fox Soccer and Fox Soccer Plus, enough to let me watch Spurs in HD most weeks (along with ESPN 2). Recently I’ve found on an American website that there are St. Louis Spurs fans who watch games at a pub on the South Side, that I previously thought was an Ajax/Scum bar exclusively. I apparently was wrong in that respect and on the Saturday of the QPR game (due to me working Sunday doubles) I’ll be making my first trip down there to see how things are for other Spurs fans in St. Louis. Will keep you guys and gals posted about how that goes.

Thanks for the podcast, been listening for a while and it’s overwhelmingly better than the rest. Come On You Spurs.

Sincerely and cheers,
