Gutted, absolutely gutted. The immediate reaction after over 30 years of being a Spurs supporter is ‘Here we go again…’.

They were right those horrible Gooners, they all said that the blip was coming, we’d choke like we always do.

But with time and reflection I can honestly say what we witnessed yesterday wasn’t our Spurs from the last 6 months. Therefore I feel the need to post my own rant and in some way deal with the misery I felt yesterday.

What stage of grief is this one, Spooky?

So you can pick the bones of yesterdays game until you are blue in the face.

Was it the tactics? A lack of heart and desire? Fear? Spurs of old coming back and choking?

Sure, there was some pretty fundamental problems yesterday.

In my opinion Ledley looked seriously off pace and you’ve got to ask whether he was in any state to have played at all. Our first-touch was bobbly, giving the ball away too cheaply, letting them get on top. All of it our own fault, no arguement.

But all of that aside, look at it this way. If we had lost 3-2 but put in a demon of a performance, sure we’d have all be gutted, but we’d also be thinking b*llocks to it, there is always next week to redeem ourselves.

What actually happened was like an embarassing slap in the face from a roly-poly strippers tits. Shocking, sweaty and ugly. It stung more than it should have done.

In days of yore we would have gone on thinking the Gooners have called it right, we are having our dip and we are going to choke.

But I say times are changing, this was the reality check that maybe, just maybe we needed. We perhaps need to take a step back and a long hard look at ourselves. Re-group. You don’t become shit overnight and if we ever we needed to bounce back in style then this is it.

We have one remaining horrible hoodoo and it’s Man Utd. If ever there was a time to bend that hoodoo over and take it royally from behind then it’s now.

We absolutely have to make a statement next Sunday. We have to come out and make a game of it.

I have no doubt in my mind that every one of those players is hurting and if they have any backbone they will come out on Sunday on fire.

  • Are we still 3rd?
  • Are we still in the FA Cup?
  • Can we still finish above Woolwich?
  • Best team since the 80’s?

[/unordered_list]

If we can answer yes to all the above, which we can, then I say we should be proud as fans and hope to god that the players believe in themselves again. Remember the season we got into the Champions League and how we came back from that FA Cup semi-final. Believe!

To re-quote a famous quote:

Once more into the breach dear friends!
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game’s afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry ‘God for Harry, Tottenham, and Saint Nicholson!

Now lets f*cking have ’em. COYS!

I feel better already…

the worst of it was having to go work and listen to them mug cunts banging on and on and on about yesterday, it was like getting punched in the face, cleaned up by who done it and then punched again, every single thing i hate about gooner supporters came rushing back like a bad curry yesterday and today, the myopic perception from arsenal about their precious team, they have had one good result against us in years & the fuckwit supporters are going on like they have won the league, fa cup, europa cup, champions league, euro championship, world cup et al, according to the papers, we might as well settle for 17th now and hand the title to woolwich wanderers, it was one result if anything this was maybe a blessing in disguise, i hated the fact that we went into that game as favourites, for some reason i think we play better when we are the underdogs, we went into the game thinking it was a set in stone that we would smash them & by the time we woke up it was too late, ill still love spurs, my kids will still love spurs & thats all thats to it, id rather be a yiddo than a extra from my big fat gypsy wedding, besides when was the last time they beat us in the league won a cup, so fuck it its happened, its done & dusted, still 7 points ahead of them fucks and still the ORIGINAL team from north london, coys me love you long time !!!!!!

I don’t. Still angry, was expecting so much more than that. To lose to them is bad enough but to lose in that manner was fekin painful. I am old enough to remember Spurs of old and you know what, I didn’t need reminded. If there is one game that we should go all out to win, where the players don’t need to be gee’d up for it is this one. Yesterday was down to the players, plain and simple, no excuses, they bottled it. The players don’t have to put with all the shit that we as supporters will have to endure from gooners until next time we beat them. I know we are above them in the table but that is not enough to make up for all the years we have had to listen to them telling us we live in their shadow. We had the opportunity yesterday to beat them AND be above them in the table and we missed it. Not happy
    Still COYS

i know what your saying, but if they dont get a serious bollocking id be suprised harry was not happy but all this shit about england cannot be helping, its like we are in limbo now, the next couple of games are gonna define our season i only hope that they sit them down and make them watch that from start to finish to make them understand how bad that was, this was much worse than the man city defeat right at the start but you could kinda think that the 2 games with city would be the hardest throughout the season, and all the other games anything could be possible, theres not many teams out there that can match what we have player for player, and thats what makes yesterday so hard to take, there isnt hardly any players for arsenal that would be better than what we have at spurs, we got spanked in a different way yesterday but you got to hope that this is reminder to them whats at stake now and a serious shock to them

Seven days ago they were talking about Tottenham Hotspur winning the league. We were going to be 13 points clear of the Arse after winning at the Emeroids. They’ve just won at Anfield, and no doubt we’ll follow our usual tradition of losing to Utd tomorrow. After only seven days the 13 points will become 4. I was feeling fantastic seven days ago. For a while there I almost forgot what it should REALLY feel like to be a Spurs fan. Ouch.

Full denial or full admittance!? I have come to the conclusion that I am rooting for a little club. Who am I to kid eh? We play and defend like scared little boys against the big time clubs. How do you attract the top talents with that mentality? Modric wants to leave, always hearing about Bale leaving, Ade might not stick around because of his big club salary. I’m always going to root Spurs, but to live this way, we must know where we place, that is the only way my heart can last. Because if I hope for anymore, there is only heartbreak. The current climate of the league, only Man City, Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal have a chance at winning the league year in and year out. We can only dream, anymore will result in stroke.
