Today marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of our legendary manager Bill Nicholson.

We would not be a club with the stature we enjoy within the game now if were not for Bill.

Needs some recognition from 1882 tonight.

RIP.

The most influential figure in the Club's history, Bill gave everything to Spurs from initially arriving for a trial in 1936 and his full debut as a player aged 19 in 1938 through to his days as President and his sad passing on October 23, 2004.
After helping the famous 'push and run' team to the Second and First Division titles in consecutive years in 1949-50 and 1950-51, Bill took over as manager in 1958 and led us to the league and cup double in 1960-61, retained the FA Cup in 1962 and then guided us to the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1963. In doing so, we became the first British club to win a European trophy.
Another FA Cup followed in 1967, two League Cups in 1971 and 1973 and the UEFA Cup in 1972.
The Club will mark the 10-year anniversary of Bill's passing on Thursday before paying homage to his contribution to Spurs at Sunday's home game against Newcastle - the nearest home Premier League matchday, and a date organised both with his family, who will be our special guests for the afternoon, and the Premier League before our progress and subsequent fixture list in the Europa League.
This fixture also allows us to celebrate fully with our fans with tributes on the pitch and on the Jumbotron screens, given there are tighter restrictions on European evenings.
A special souvenir matchday programme has been produced and will include previously unseen photographs of Bill during his time at the Club.
We also have a commemorative pin badge that will be given away free - while stocks last - and fans will have the chance to sign a special Tribute Wall in our Megastore on the corner of Park Lane.
We will also be encouraging all fans to 'Wear White For Bill' - look out for more on this soon!
Finally, there will be a minute's applause as we celebrate Bill's life and times at Spurs, so please be in your seats in plenty of time to ensure you are there to pay tribute.

The great man would be in despair to see what has happened
to his beloved Spurs in recent years .
A club not competing with the best , a fanbase resigned to failure . A frugal Bookkeeping regime of empty words.
He made the Glory,
He is Spurs .

They always say no one man is bigger than a club.I tend to agree ,but he comes pretty damn close
I was at the service at the ground(as i am sure many on here were),Both moving and funny with various players stories

I really do hope that a statue of Bill is built outside the new ground , What a great man gave everything to our club, Iv never understood how we haven't recognised Bill in the same way Liverpool recognise Shankley, All we have is a little bronze face of Bill as you walk into the main reception of the ground

I had the honour of meeting the great man a couple of times and he was a true gentleman and was Spurs through and through. Can't believe it was 10 years ago. He deserves every respect that is being accorded and we will never see the like again.

Just to add to what a memorable night it was. Besides Lamela's wondrous goal, and 1882's superlative support, Kane became the 10th player to score a European hat trick, we got our 100th European victory and we also became top scorers in the (short) history of the Europa League, (IIRC). Oh what a night indeed!!!
