I think it's unreasonable to to say his or Dembeles performances are poor since neither have hardly played.

Dembele has been nursing a calf injury btw.

In my post, I didn't say that Paulinho and Denbele's performances were poor.

I said that I don't think it's unreasonable to expect better performances, more consistently from both.

And by that, I mean, since they joined us, not just this season.

They are both international players and represented their countries in the World Cup. This is reflected in the transfer fees and I presume, their wages.

As I said in my response to the original poster, it may well be that Paulinho needs a rest.

Dembele may just be one of those players that we seem to specialise in at Tottenham - high quality but injury-prone.

If course, I want them both to do well and I'm fairly patient but I just expect a bit more when they're selected and fit.

I genuinely think theres a good footballer in there, but he will never look good in this league, so we need to get shot to get the best result for club and player. Having said that he got a reasonable goal return for a
(spurs) CM last year... Just too much of a fanny for a role in the Poch team i think

That Argentina/ Brasil rivalry eh??
Pochettino told ESPN Brasil when asked about a possible loan deal: “No, no Tottenham player, including Paulinho, will be loaned to Brazil. There is no chance"

Softer than Modric?
Yep, and it's funny when I see that picture as proof of his 'hardness' he knows he has no chance of getting hurt.

I am not saying he is better than Eriksen, but I am saying that if not being a hardman means you cant play for Spurs, than Eriksen shouldn't be playing either
Mate, don't twist things - your post said something about the 'big man', many people would equate that to mean a certain physical or mental stature - he has neither. Of course you don't need to be a hard man to play for Spurs, but you need to be something other than simply Brazilian. I feel a bit sorry for people who support players over the club - it all gets a bit weird.
