Why haven't we signed the Wembley agreement then? The stadium is supposedly three months ahead of schedule
Because we might still be finalsing the Wembley deal or looking at alternatives

There is no way in hell the stadium will be finished by August and WHL demolished and missing 'piece' built in 3 months. Are you mental?

Probably more likely something to do with the financial side of the move to wembley. Using the fact we've sold it out for Europa/CL games as bargaining leverage

FA are still paying for Wembley, it's in their interest to try and make as much money from it to pay back the frankly ridiculous amount to build the place.

The steel is obviously very easy to put in, two more this morning.

Looks a bit like the twin towers of Wembley!

Seeing as there isn't a 'Farewell to WHL' thread... and not wishing to gatecrash the 'Nostalgia Photos' thread...
anyone know if the club are planning a Farewell 'Testimonial' match for WHL at the end of the season??

I imagine that most of the seats will be ripped out just after or during the Man Utd game at the end of the season, so it'll probably have to be all standing (nice touch btw!)

Be great if the club were planning something like this... especially if we've done alright in the League come May...

just a thought!

A common thought that i have heard is there will be no more games after the Man U game, as the construction deadlines are so tight that the demolition starts the very next day after the Man U game. Man U game is not the last game of the season, that is 8 days latter. So absolutely idiotic to have a game played in between (especially if there is something still to play for), therefore if there ever was to be another game that in theory (assuming we are not in EL and FA cup finals!) would be a week after the last day of the season, which would therefore delay the construction of the new stadium by 3 weeks. If we are in a final add another week to that. Can't see anything happening after the Man U game unless it doesn't involve any of the first team squad.

All rumours.

Why are people suddenly wishing for MK Stadium, it's miles from Tottenham. Wembley was our best option in term of location (we're never sharing with Woolwich or Spanners). We've already started to overcome playing at Wembley. We need to get used to having 50-60k crowds. MK is a small ground that cannot house the amount of fans that go to our matches.

How about we get used to winning at Wembley.....if everyone else treats it as a Cup Final then so be it.....we need to learn how to win those again as well

The thing to do is drop the cups, but win the title on points with two games to go then we can simply forfeit the Utd game - be classed as having lost that game 3-0 and knock down the stadium early! And Utd might beat Woolwich to 4th as a bonus for getting three points off us too.

Sorted.
