i think the year away will kill the remaining local pubs anyway.

It may well be the end of a lot of existing businesses in Tottenham, but that's not to say that others won't take the opportunity to start up again once the stadium is completed. It's probably wishful thinking, but I would hope that there will be a certain amount of supporters who for whatever reason decide against attending home matches during our time away and instead will watch the matches in the pubs in Tottenham. It may be enough to keep some of the businesses alive but certainly not all.

I don't really have a huge issue with the commercialisation of the new stadium, it's inevitable, and there will be plenty of punters who will take advantage of these facilities and the club will make there money.

But for me i would I would rather go to a game sober than spend my money drinking and eating in the stadium before during or after the game.

Beer in my seat during the game would probably be the only thing that changes that, but it's unlikely as most of the games i go to are Europa League and at the moment i can't have a beer anywhere near the ground let alone in my seat.

The team behind Tottenham’s new stadium says it will create ‘at least’ the best atmosphere in England. The White Hart Lane side will leave their home since 1899 in three years time and hop across the road to their new ground.

The team behind the 61,000 capacity stadium say they have put in the hours fiddling with the finest details to give Spurs supporters the best chance of creating a cauldron of noise when they move homes. Spurs hope their new 17,000 single-tier southern stand will ‘generate a wall of sound’ and will play a huge role in making that possible.

Senior principal for architects Populas Christopher Lee told FourFourTwo magazine, when asked about the goal of being the loudest ground in the country: “That’s the aim, at least. “The project is being totally engineered towards creating the best possible atmosphere. It’s almost like a bit of art to provide the best for the supporters, so they in turn can create the best possible noise. “We’ve spent literally years eking millimetres off the outer bowl so you can be as tight to the pitch, and the fans feel as close to the game, as possible.” On the role the south stand will play he added: “We want that stand to be the ground’s engine, driving both the atmosphere and the players’ performance.

“Single-tier stands keep reverberation times high, so the songs carry on for longer because everyone stays in sync for longer.” The plan is for Tottenham to play their home games away from White Hart Lane for the 2017/18 campaign ‘to enable a faster construction of the new stadium’ and then move in for August 2018. It will include a fully retractable pitch – to cater for NFL as well as concerts and other events.

“We have a huge multinational company that claims to be benefiting Tottenham, instead it has been a blight. Despite the buildings being saved, we are actually losing jobs and businesses are being forced out of the area."

Pretty basic concept of regeneration - needing one thing to go before it can be replaced with something better....

These people are all over they just seem to purposely miss the point. Nothing should change about the area but there should magically be new jobs.

Big news....well the guys on skyscrapercity are getting very excited...

Until they've installed piling
Until they've they've knocked down Archway
Until they've started pouring concrete

Tottenham ready for former US agent to show the money

Daniel Levy's attempts to finance Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium have attracted the interest of a former American sports agent who could even try to buy a stake in the club.

Jeff Moorad was partly the inspiration behind the character Tom Cruise played in the film Jerry Maguire and served as a technical consultant for the 1996 Oscar-winning production, in which he made a cameo appearance.

In the most famous scene, Maguire is forced to shout show me the money to his client down the telephone and that is exactly what Tottenham chairman Levy will be keen for Moorad to do.

Although neither party would confirm meetings had taken place, Telegraph Sport understands that Levy has spoken with Moorad in America.

Levy is still searching for investment to finance Tottenhams £400 million stadium and is demanding £150 million for naming rights to the 61,000-seat arena, which could host NFL games.

Spurs last year released a statement on the attempts to raise funds that read: This substantial construction project requires discussions with multiple providers of finance so that the optimum financing package can be achieved. To this end, we have appointed Rothschild to advise us on those options.

Moorad, who is the former minority owner of both the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres Major League Baseball clubs, is not thought to have the personal wealth to launch a full takeover bid for Tottenham, who are valued at around £800 million by owner Joe Lewis.

But the 60-year-old is understood to be looking at various ways of putting money into Spurs, including buying a stake. It is believed that Moorad is already working with a UK-based adviser over his interest in the club.

In 2013, he founded Moorad Sports Partners, a private investment firm that invests in and manages sports-related businesses, including professional teams.

Spurs last year received a preliminary takeover approach from private investment company Cain Hoy, but the group was unwilling to meet the asking price.

Moorad made his name as one of the leading American sports agents in partnership with Leigh Steinberg, the other inspiration behind the Maguire character, in the 1980s and negotiated over $3 billion in athletes contracts.

Tottenham hope their revised stadium plans will be passed by Haringey Council on Dec 8.

Mace will become an integrated member of the Project Team and develop the pre construction plans, detailed construction programmes and work with the Club to procure specialist sub contract tenders for the new stadium works.

Commenting on the appointment, Daniel Levy, Chairman, said, “This is another step towards the delivery of one of the best stadiums in the world. We are delighted to have Mace on board. They bring a wealth of experience and I know they share our commitment to ensuring that the development will be first class in every aspect. We now await Haringey Council's Planning Committee decision on 8 December 2015.”

Mark Reynolds, Mace Chief Executive said: “We are privileged and thrilled to join the team to take the new stadium to its next stage of development. We look forward to working with the Club and its consultants to make sure the project is a success. It is of critical importance as it is the flagship development that will act as a catalyst for the regeneration of this area."

Mace is an international consultancy and construction company employing over 5,100 people, across five continents. Mace have been involved in delivering a number of significant projects, such as The Shard, Birmingham New Street Station, Heathrow Terminal 5, and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games stadium and venues.

This is such an exciting project sometimes it's difficult to believe that it's actually happening.
I spent too long on a blog where the anti Levy/Enic spin got to the point of stupidity.
The blog actually spent more time focusing on it's political agenda and ignored the facts both on & off the pitch.
The quality of the build is such that money will be queuing up to get a piece of the action...and it's not just the stadium...the new training
facilities and the future 'hospitality' addition just up the ante.
Add in the proposed Crossrail 2 (North/South) and the fact that I can fly to Stansted from my location in SW France, hop on the Stansted Express,
alight at Tottenham Hale, make for the bar and my room at the new hotel....et voila!

What do you think of the Northumberland Development Project plans and how do you think it will help us push for a top 4 finish?
Ethan,
Not sure if your questions were directed at me but here are my answers...
The stadium, or NDP, is the catalyst for the Tottenham regeneration plan as envisaged by Haringey Council. (as I see it).

Assuming that the regeneration plan proceeds after the stadium completion then there will be an area of North London that is easy to access, attractive to live in, do business in and visit...
as opposed to the sh*thole it currently is.
I think the main advantage for the club from all this actual and proposed redevelopment will be to re-ignite the fan base...a lot of us are still surviving on the memories of past eras and are
approaching the time when 'we catch the last bus home' :(.
