Matt Stead, really doesn't like us does he? Not a single mention of us, even though I would suspect the dippers wish they had a coach as astute as ours along with a transfer committee and board that know what they are doing.

Does Jurgen Klopp really need a 'marquee' signing? - Football365

We've had a very good transfer window, yet he talks about the Spanners being shrewd having spent £12m, Matt have you missed the bit about them trying to spunk £35.3m on a striker? They've made loan signings and free transfers. Replace Klopp with Pochettino in that article and it wouldn't be inaccurate.

He may as well have hired a plane with a banner confessing his love for the bloke - would have been more subtle than the article.

Young players signed for 10-15m turning into world beater is hardly stuff of legends, it's the youth player brought up or random player signed (Dier, Ali, walker + Naughton for 9m) that's clever business. Klopp is under pressure before the season starts, Liverpool is a damaged brand Rodgers saw to that. I don't think it's as attractive as it used to be and for someone who believes in 'coaching' he has done a great job on Benteke.

I think it will be a tricky season for them, their fans will expect them in the top 3 for most of the season, they will not be there (in my opinion)

Losing the Europa final was a massive blow - if they had Champions League then players like Aubameyang and Gotze would have been realistic targets.

Not even in the Europa League this year, only way they are signing anyone half decent is by offering £££. When one of the highest transfers of this window is £34m for Mane, they really are reaching. That isn't improving the squad with 'coaching' now is it. Perhaps Matip will turn out to be very good?

That folder most likely contains more formations than just 4-4-1-1. And there's two options that are imo way more likely than us switching to 4-4-1-1

First, that he's using pre-season to have some fall back formations, and is drilling into to the players, which adjustments are needed from each player, if he calls a switch to that formation. In any case, it's very close to 4-2-3-1 in execution.

Secondly, what I find most likely of all is that pre-season is being used to drill the squad in playing against a variety of formations. So the folder is just a tool for setting up the team against 4-4-1-1 and other formations.

Or maybe it contains pictures of nudes.

4-4-1-1, anyone?
That could be 1 1 4 4

It's gonna be Bielsa

I really hope you're right. Also hoping as the guys are only part the way through our project they will stay. Also not thinking it's a great time to manage their national team... Fingers crossed the Lane, training ground, players, new stadium, Levy and London all do their part to influence Poch.

Saying this didn't he leave Southampton mid project?

Not sure Levy would even let him talk to them - 5 year contract.....the buyout would be huge

He wanted £15m for Redknapp and he only had 4-5 months left with the club having a 12 month extension option

Not the news we wanted to be reading. I don't think he's going anywhere, although this is going to keep happening whenever a top teams manager gets the sack.

From Argentina: Telephone interview for Tottenham's Poch, he wants the job thinks family friend - Sportwitness

Think this is the source and nothing really surprising. Far more qualified candidates for the job than Poch right now who still has a lot to learn and prove.

Argentina currently being manager-less has led to several people being linked with the role, with most stories in Europe being about Diego Simeone, although that has to seem an unlikely scenario.

Argentine newspaper La Nacion reports that, after discussing candidates at a meeting, the AFA would like to speak face to face with Simeone and also Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli, although it’s stated there may not be the finances available to pay enough compensation to their clubs.

Therefore it may be curious that the next man mentioned is Mauriccio Pochettino, with the Tottenham manager apparently the target of some kind of telephone interview.

Whilst it’s got to be unlikely Spurs would even consider letting the manager go, it did remind us of an extensive feature on Pochettino earlier this year.

Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten sent a reporter all the way to the Argentine village Pochettino is from, and spoke to people including the local mayor and a family friend.

The friend, Norberto Oscar Caffa, better known as ‘Maco’, had heard rumours linking Pochettino with Real Madrid, and he thought the Tottenham manager would do well there, but said it’s not the job he’d most like.

When asked what Pochettino’s goal is, Maco explained: “I think he wants to lead the national team. I think so.”

Maybe this opportunity is too soon.
