Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I saw a player that led the line well and teamed up with Soldado. Was very much involved and progressive with his attitude .... But I also saw a player that frustrated me, made errors and some wrong choices on the pass and seemed to fall over a lot looking for free kicks, I guess. There is room for him in the squad but must improve .

He's still developing as a player, he's home grown and is still really young, yet people like Simmo just can't cunt him off quick enough because he's a complete prick.

Whatever Harry Kane is going to achieve in his career at Spurs or not, we still have no idea how far he can go

Read what I fucking said, he's shit at one on ones. Seeing him get behind the defence today made me recall a few times I've seen him do it. He tends to dwell on the ball and/or when to pull the trigger and often doesn't.

Ok I was direct about it but that doesn't slate him generally on other aspects. I think he has ability but remains to be seen to what extent it will come to fruition.....prick.

I would like to see Pochettino put Kane out in the Jay Rodriguez position on the left. He's not the level of athlete that JR is but I think he might be better technically and they are both excellent finishers. I love Kane's game but I worry that he isn't quite the ideal player to lead a line by himself and with the death of the second striker his most natural position doesn't exist. If Pochettino could get him comfortable as a LW that floats inside and almost plays as another forward in possession like he did with Rodriguez I think that would be the best solution for all parties. As with most of our players, how well he adapts to the pressing system will probably drive how much playing time he gets.
I do rate your opinions JDK JDK but cannot agree on Kane. Watched him again today in the flesh with an absolutely open mind. He just has no pace. He can definitely spot a pass and has a quick enough brain but his pace will always hold him back at the top level.

Is this guy going to replace Soldado? Not as our main striker but as the person who completely divides opinion!!

The comments range from: "great feet for a big man, plays well at number 10" to "he looks like he plays with shoelaces tied together" and "can't finish" so which is it????

Yeah I may have been wrong, certainly wouldn't be the first time. He's very skilled though and I really rate him. He was terrible today, but I think people are being a bit harsh on him. Soldado missed two easy chances, Holtby and Townsend missed pretty simple ones as well. Shit happens. Kane did score three goals in three games last season, kid clearly has significant ability.

He's a good young prospect that's a bit shit. Obvious.

Indeed he does but I just don't see highest level ability. Only because of dinosaur pace. Holtby was like a schoolboy captain, wanting to do everything. Townsend I think probably needs to get some form but although I hate to admit it I tend to agree with gibbs131 evaluation of him being England/media darling. He has never really got back the form of that purple patch. Will he? Who knows....

I should've read what I said too

He lacks pace, which is a key reason why I thought he wouldn't make it at Spurs. But his other attributes got me to thinking he would make it with us, from what I saw last season.

It's a tricky one, none of our strikers are equipped to punish a high line. Townsend and Lennon are probably more likely to accomplish that trick.

Maybe we do need another striker, but then it might be adios Soldado, which I wouldn't like to see. Decisions, decisions.

West Ham won't play a high line AFAIK, and it may be that Ade and Kane should start that game because of their aerial presence. We'll need to defend a lot of high balls as well as attack them. Then again, maybe we should skip Kane and stick another mid in. Decision, decisions.

Interesting - so you deny cunting him off right ahead of cunting him off some more. You don't have the courage to stand by your opinions and accept criticism from others for them, you just deny cunting him off, then repeat. What a sad, pathetic individual you are - Simmo - I think you'd be better off supporting Woolwich or Chelsea - they seem more suitable to your personality. Now jog on, there's a good lad.

Whenever I watch Kane and he has drifted behind the midfield with the ball going into the box, I wonder if it a weakness of his or a tactic.

did it a lot under TS too, so im tempted to say the former

You could be describing Sheringham there, and he did alright...

Then again the game's changed from 20 years ago so not sure if he'd do as well nowadays?

Trying to rack my brain and think of a current Sheringham-esque player who delivers at the highest level..

As long as Kane executes the simple things right, he stays for me-simple. He's not the finish, accomplish player we are all seeming to be criticising? He also needs to understand that he is not the finished, polished player he may think he is. He needs to player every game, he gets the opportunity as if he's career depends on it. He will never be as good as Sheringham so needs to work hard. He has the ability, I'M SURE.

I'm sorry, the fact is Kane is a championship player. The club is wasting it's time persisting with him. The problem is that both Soldaldo and Ade are pretty second rate as well. If want any chance of top four next season a striker has to be bought.
