Didn't know we had this thread until now. Just caught up on the discussion. About Ceballos, wasn't he on loan in Portugal this past year? That entire period would not count toward his homegrown time so I don't think he can be considered a home grown player at this point.
He was still registered with us, that's all that counts afaik

Not really sure if that's true. Most of what I've learned about home grown players comes from football manager and I've never been able to do it on that game, not that that proves anything :adegrin2:

I've looked it up - we signed him in July 2011, where we would have been 18 and a half. Because of this, I think there was never enough time for him to get 3 full seasons before his 21st birthday (3 Dec 92) anyway

It's a good question, I can't seem to find any confirmation of this, how does it work with Chelsea loaning out all those players to Vitesse?

Ceballos turned 21 during the 2013/14 season, which makes him ineligible to be HG based on the 3 seasons rule. And since he signed in early 2011, he's ineligible based on the 36 months rule. Sadly, I'm going to move him from being HG.

Turning 21 during last season isn't really what counts, as the 1st of January is the limit. Players still 20 by the end of 2013 will be counted as U21.
A player born on the 1st of Jan 1993 would count as an U21 this season, a player born on the 31st of Dec 1992 no longer..and Ceballos was born in December 1992.

Therefore, as per the first post of this thread, Ben Davies count as an U21. He was born in April 1993.

Right, but we're talking about:

a) Ceballos

b) Whether he is HG or not. For HG status, a player has to have played in/been registered for three complete seasons within the FA by the season in which he turns 21 or have spent 36 months with the squad by his 21st birthday. Ceballos does neither, suggesting he's not HG.

(And since Ceballos was born in 1992, then he also doesn't qualify as U21.)

Riiight. Did you read my post?
I said:

I was also merely pointing out that the cut off is at the end of the year and not the season like you said above. No biggie.

For Davies it makes the difference though, as he turned 21 later than 1st Jan 2014 and that the mistake in the OP, as he was listed in the wrong list.

Read but misunderstood because of your quoting my Ceballos post and then you talk about Davies.

But you're right that Davies counts as U21 for this season, and he's been moved accordingly.

God this is pointless - if you are over 18, shame on you. Studying the youth ranks middle names as a passtime, gawd help us.

Éperons Éperons

Though not seen anything official, with the retained list not including him and him not being listed on the Spurs site anymore, I'd say Laste Dombaxe is gone now. He should probably update his twitter bio though.
