(which alphabetises Son under "H", but, well, This Is England, and we'll alphabetise however we want.)

Incidentally, we've only registered 21 players. Woolwich have registered 25. I can't remember the last time they had a larger number of registered players than we (though it may have been the case last season!)—in the past, they've had difficulty getting homegrown players into the senior squad, but now they have 9.

Isn't that partly down to us having some very young players who don't even need registering? (e.g. Alli and Onomah)

Sure. Most clubs will augment the squad w/ u21s and even pull starters from there. I'm rather confident w/ our squad, but this is more evidence of Poch's youth movement that we can't even fill a 25-man squad—and it's not for a lack of HG players (as would be the case for Woolwich).

I updated the list again to add the first year academy players, and I moved Nkoudou to U21, because, well, he is!

That means our squad is actually only *20*!

I think we might actually have the strongest squad in the league this season.

Everyone else has positions where they would be far weaker if a key player were injured, ours is probably Alderweireld - but then I could easily see Dier and Vertonghen with Wanyama in front having no issues.

Everywhere else we'd need at least two players out before we had real issues.

Some positions can be debated but the spine of our team is the strongest in the league, not just 1st 11 but those behind them too. Other teams may have a better CF but they are weak at CB or CM.

Llorris/Vorm
Vertonghen/Alderwerield
Wimmer
Dier/Wanyamma/Dembele
Alli/Erikssen
Kane/Son

From back to front there is no better spin in the league, it has already been tested with suspensions and injuries and has come up trumps. Formation can influence this and I thought perhaps we needed another player to back up Erikssen but I'm not to sure now. Alli is perhaps already showing his versatility.

What would be our best team with everyone fully fit, I'd reckon. Between Eriksen and Lamela for the number 10 but everyone else seems pretty certain to me.

Lloris
Walker Toby Verts Rose
Wanyama Dembele
Alli Eriksen Son
Kane

Jan Vertonghen hails 'maturity' and 'strength' of depleted Spurs

If we talking fully fit, Dier/Wanyama is also a conundrum. The good thing about our current squad as mentioned by Vertonghen is we have good strength in depth. We're no longer looking the at quality of Mason, Carroll and Bentaleb to come in and fill in.

I personally think the only position really lacking excellent competition is that of Eriksen, ideally we'd have another creative central midfielder to offer him something to think about.

Isco would have been it, in truth Isco would have been a proper step up for our AM's. Shame it didn't happen in the end. It's the only thing we lack IMO, a top class player as good as Sanchez or KDB.

United are 95th...their squad is actually worth less than what they were bought for...

Down there with Hull.

Only squads more valuable than ours is Barcelona and Real Madrid. Just goes to show how Pochettino has managed turn water into wine.

Who would have thought Harry Kane from 4 years ago would turn out to be £80m+ striker. Or Danny Rose and Kyle Walker would be £60m each?

Harry Kane: It would be 'stupid' to leave Tottenham now

"I would be surprised if any of my team-mates were to leave now," the England international told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Something's going on here, we're just missing that last step - to win trophies. It would be stupid to leave now.

"We have one of the best managers in the world, perhaps the best. Soon there will be a new stadium. The future is promising."
Been wondering who will be the first to break ranks...
