Dont shit yourself mate, its utterly meaningless.I cant remember last time a decent established club appointed a mercenary as a vice captain. I guess such a prestigious status is no longer anything of significance these days.

Totally agree, could see him being captain against arse thoMercenary? :ade:
Liverpool's captain would have left if they didn't give him a whopping new contract a few years back, Man Utd's too last season. Ade probably took a cut in wages to come here....now he's not saint but the agenda is unbelievable. He's vastly experienced (how many of our other players have as many european/CL games as him?) and this may help motivate him. I don't really want to see an ex-Woolwich player captain of Spurs but I can see the logic in this.
Assuming Lloris will take responsibility over him anyway in Kaboul's absence and I can't see our no.1 striker playing too many Europa League / Cup games this side of Christmas.
I agree. But I don't count Ade as a arseanal bitch anymore, thanks to that knee slide for city couple of seasons ago. And as far as im concerned, isnt he hated there anyways .Mercenary? :ade:

Jan Vertonghen was overlooked for the Tottenham captaincy after head coach Mauricio Pochettino consulted his squad on which player deserved the armband.
Pochettino last month named Younes Kaboul as the club’s new skipper, following the departure of Michael Dawson in the summer.
Vertonghen had been tipped as one of the main candidates to take the captaincy, but the Belgian also missed out on becoming Kaboul’s deputy.
Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and, most surprisingly, striker Emmanuel Adebayor were both made Tottenham’s vice captains behind Kaboul.
Telegraph Sport, however, understands that Pochettino did not come to the decision to omit central defender Vertonghen from his list of captains alone.
Having only taken over the Spurs squad in the summer, Pochettino canvassed the opinion of his players on who would be best captain and vice captains.
Vertonghen did little to hide his displeasure under previous head coach Tim Sherwood, which may have helped convince his team-mates that he is not captain material.
The 27-year-old has insisted he is happy at Spurs working with Pochettino, but recently confirmed that negotiations over a new contract had stopped.
Tottenham are under no pressure to rush a new deal, with Vertonghen’s current deal due to run for another four years.
Having been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane in the summer, Vertonghen will need to prove his commitment to the club before any talks over a pay increase reopen.
Vertonghen has won his starting place back under Pochettino in recent weeks, having played alongside Kaboul against Woolwich and Southampton.
Tottenham right back Kyle Walker is targeting a December playing return from the abdominal injury that has been troubling him for six months.
Walker underwent lower abdominal surgery last month after missing the end of last season and the World Cup.
The 24-year-old is now training on his own at Tottenham’s Enfield complex and hopes to rejoin the rest of the squad by mid-November.
Should he not suffer any more setbacks, then Walker is confident he can play again at the start of December, with Tottenham due to travel to Chelsea on December 3.
The return of Walker will not only be a boost to Tottenham, but also to England manager Roy Hodgson, who has been short of experienced right backs over recent months.
Tottenham will test the fitness of Lloris and Vertonghen’s international team-mate Nacer Chadli ahead of the club’s Premier League clash against champions Manchester City.
Lloris and Chadli have been the outstanding performers of Tottenham’s good start to the season, but both players suffered injuries on international duty.
Lloris picked up a thigh injury on France duty, while Chadli pulled out of Belgium’s 1-1 draw with Bosnia-Herzegovina, complaining of a hip injury.
French medics are optimistic that Lloris’s injury is not serious, while Chadli has not given up hope of facing City.

A post on the club's official Twitter feed read: " Mauricio has announced that Younes Kaboul has been named our new Club captain with Hugo Lloris and Emmanuel Adebayor as vice-captains."
Could´nt be any more official

Don't be daft - there are 0 quotes Poch consulted the players to arrive at his decision - that's the point here.Hmmmm there still aren't any quotes - I think we need to visited individually by Pochettino, Vertonghen, Kaboul, Lloris and Adebayor and told personally who is and isn't Captain.
