Hmm. I had misgivings about joining this forum because of the flak that goes with it. Now being a season ticket holder I feel I have a right to express my opinion on this season's squad ( not for the first time ). Gibbsy is spot on. Rose, Naughton are not good enough along with Lennon, Townsend, Chadli, Siggy, Saldado. Dembele, Paulinho, Cliriches who flatter to deceive. I could name the whole squad but we need Fryers, Kane and one or two others for next season.

Whilst i respect your opinion, i don't understand it.
You say that a long list of our players "are not good enough"
but what does that mean? Its bullshit really, meaningless.
You could look at any squad ever and say certain players "aren't good enough".
Its not about looking at individual players strength, its about squad strength, and we have one of the strongest squads in the league. Our real problem, is we aren't getting the best out of that squad.

When you say they aren't good enough, i can only presume you mean to win the league.
Well, we aren't a club thats going to be challenging city or chelsea easily, our only option is to be a liverpool and get a great manager getting the best out of the squad. And look at their squad, flannagan, johnson etc, with the exception of suarez, i really don't think Liverpools squad is that much stronger than ours.

Or look at united, they won the league last season with the exact same squad they started this season with. If anything it was stronger, because they brought januzaj through, and yet they've barely been above 6th place this season.

Its easy to say every single one of our players "isn't good enough" because they aren't the best players in the world. So yeah, Adebayor isn't good enough, we should get messi in. and fuck lennon and townsend i want bale and ronaldo.

Sometimes you have to understand, based on now and very much from what you've said about your previous interactions and also what others have touched on in the same context, that it's not about being right.

Having an opinion, post, or observation accepted or respected is very much based on how it is communicated. Being right isn't an achievement if no one cares about your opinion - in fact, the most popular and likeable of posters are exactly that because of practically everything else before their ability to be correct.

If someone told me 6 years ago that we'd sack our manager less than a year after winning the League cup final, see Chelsea dominate the league and European competitions, finish 4th twice and still not ahead of Woolwich and still only qualify for the CL once, get our record points finish and yet still not get CL football, make and sell one of the finest welsh footballers and spurs players ever and see liverpool and man city destroy us regularly, I wouldn't respect that guy 6 years later (now) for getting all that right, I'd resent him for destroying the hopes and dreams I had as a fan.

I don't come on here to be correct, and I've been wrong about Sherwood systematically since he was appointed for both being for and against him at times. I come on here to enjoy speaking about a passion of mine, and I'm sure I as much as everyone else doesn't like being made to feel patronised and condescended. As such, you are sowing the seed of discord, which means you must be looking for that reaction?

Did you not know that corners and set pieces basically won them the title last year? Some managers know how to use their heavy artillery. Even when the opposition have better aim, snipers and depth in numbers.

Not really. Wide attacking players in top 4 teams score 3 or 4 times as much as ours do and also supply strikers. That is how you get CL football and wow a new generation of fans to pin their colors to your flag. Goals, grit, creativity and determination is behind the passion. You see none of that through most of the players he mentioned.

Look at the teams that are 4th up. Their wide players have goals and assists. The Chelseas have dour robots at the back that grind results. The Liverpool's have width and intelligent passing in the middle of the park and deadly finishers.

What do Lennon, Rose, Naughton, Townsend etc bring to that table> Shit defense, shit determination, shit passion, shit goals.

Liverpool managers attack the Roses and the weak links.

I went back three years to see if any of your predictions had come through, and no they hadn't, so I concentrated more on the stuff where it was obvious that you were going for laughs. The bit where you said Jamie O'Hara was as good as Luka Modric I thought was quite amusing, and the time you spent nine months arguing with all the SC people that Modric couldn't lace Malbranque's boots, well, that was excellent as well. His "predictions" if that's what they were, seem to be about as unique and insightful as predicting that today is going to be Thursday or as technically wonderous as predicting high tide times.
