    Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

No, we don't. And given our history of spending big money on forwards who then fail spectacularly, the lesson is that you either give the academy kids, or a young talent from elsewhere the chance to grow into the role. Son is the right guy for this team, doing the right things. He's also the...

    Management Ange Postecoglou

I always think if him more as the Lamela you get at Ikea. Låmelø, if you will.

Fully Ange in at this point. This is the kind of football I have wanted to see out of Spurs, and it seems to really suit the players as well.

Management Next Manager Poll (poll reset 11/04/23)

Any decent scouting/data group can take a look around and put together a list of 5-7 managers not already at big PL clubs who play an attacking style of football with high possession. It is not the act of a genius. Convincing Levy to stop star fucking and start hiring smartly is the tricky part.

Management Next Manager Poll (poll reset 11/04/23)

I don't think he is. I think he was not very well suited to a Conte team, and also that he was ignored because Conte was an idiot who thought size was a substitute for talent. I think he is a very good creative passer who could, under a competent coach, be a very useful part of the Spurs squad.

Management Next Manager Poll (poll reset 11/04/23)

I don't think Luis Enrique would have any illusions that it would be an overnight change. If he is willing to accept that it will be a big rebuild that will take time and he will not have instant gratification, it can work. He at least will be happy to work with the Bryan Gils of the world...

Management Next Manager Poll (poll reset 11/04/23)

I broadly agree with Nate on this. Someone not a DoF has at least gotten through to Levy that Fabio's ideas about managers were rubbish and has been finding the right kinds of people. So, all the structure changes in the background this year seem to have started to produce results, even if...

Management Next Manager Poll (poll reset 11/04/23)

I will be happy with either Luis Enrique, or Ange Postecoglu, or hell, even Gallardo, but for fuck's sake, I will not abide Brendan fucking Rodgers. I don't care if he's competent, I will not abide being managed by a character from The Office.

What I find more interesting is the second laptop Jesus has open. Why would you be watching training sessions if you’re not joining a club until June?

Management Next Manager Poll (poll reset 11/04/23)

Not in the same sense, especially owners, since it’s their toy/product. But Chairman do have times when it becomes clear that they can no longer meaningfully contribute. And I think someone has reached that point.

Management Next Manager Poll (poll reset 11/04/23)

I think it works out in the summer as Pochettino to Real Madrid, Nagelsmann to Liverpool, Amorim to Atletico, and Enrique to Chelsea. Potter seems to be cursed.

Management Next Manager Poll (poll reset 11/04/23)

I’m ok with that. Just go get the next one. We need to get out this idea of managers being long term appointments. Anything longer than 2 years is gravy.

Ok, after watching a bit of Burnley vs Sunderland I am really big on Kompany. Still would rather Nagelsmann or Schmidt, but the man has fucking Burnley playing like peak 16-17 Spurs. He’s legit.

    Management Levy / ENIC

I can agree with all of this at this point.

    Management Levy / ENIC

You do, but City, PSG, Chelsea, and now Newcastle are playing a game that the rest of the footballing world cannot play. We can still beat them playing a different game, but that involves a bit of ruthless competence and self-awareness that I don't think the board or the fans really have.
  17. Juicy Sushi

    Management Levy / ENIC

Yeah, this. Chelsea and City have used a variety of financial engineering that makes it harder to prove, while Juventus was just conducting transfer business involving visibly fraudulent valuations, and it was noted at the time as well. Plenty of people were ringing alarm bells about it. I...

    Management Levy / ENIC

I think that it is important to add a bit of nuance to any discussion of trophies won. Any given trophy is essentially pure luck. Since ENIC have taken control of the club, Spurs have only won 1 trophy. They've been in finals that could have seen us win a few more than that, but in many...

Has been basically the same everywhere.

Management Next Manager Poll (poll reset 11/04/23)

Precisely. It seems like a much more intelligent use of the players on hand, by letting them express themselves in a system that has a point. The automatisms are definitely something which are getting found out as it limits your attacking players to do very predictable things that are a lot...
