Just can't understand the reasoning behind playing Vertonghen in the Europa.

At this stage I'd love to see Verts & Dier play together, but that would mean dropping our captain.

agreed, dier is clearly not a right back. got the mobility & size of a CB. in fact he is a lot of potential to be a top CB. he gets caught out by pacey wingers at RB.
vertoghen even out of form is much better than any other CB we have.
also, poch just changes the CB combo pretty much match to match.
u want a settled CB combo. they don't get a chance to form a solid partnership.
Id either go kaboul & vert or dier & vert. maybe let them compete against each other for that spot.

poch thinks Fazio is good & kaboul makes a good captain!
he must not like vert because he has dropped him in favour of awful defenders like vlad & Fazio!

Fact is the players we have lost are miles better than those that are playing now. Regardless of them being foreign or not.

Exactly. Obviously we've lost our better players but Mason and Kane are the only ones out there who look like they haven't anything in them. Dembele, Lamela, Adebayor were brutal when they came Capoue has lost the plot. So unfair to pick those two as problems, they are all we've got going for us at the moment besides Lloris.
