True after 8 games we are the only side yet to play anyone above us in the league so it’s a fact we have had the easiest start of anyone in the league

It's also stupid as that league position also depends on what teams, in turn, those clubs have played.....

Never ever refer to a form table then.

Or mention a team being in a good run of form.

In your opinion that’s not a fair reflection of anything as every team will have played different teams.

Unfortunately most people who work in football will tell you there is such a thing as being in a good of form. Whatever you think.

Who would we need to play to not have an easy start to the season. Man City and who else?

The mighty Villa,Brighton and West Ham?

You need to play Away at City, Newcastle, Liverpool, Ars, Real Madrid, Barca 10/11, 1970's Brazil, The Hurricanes, A Cold wet windy night in Stoke, The Nazi's in escape to Victory and the Aliens in Space Jam.

Some people on here are obsessed with being seen as the most neutral, objective and enlightened fans.

They're just too intelligent for stupid tribal fans like us.

Winning breeds confidence. 6 wins, 2 draws, 0 defeats. It's clearly making the team believe they can go out, play their game and win far more often than not.

I felt that was why Woolwich did "well" last season.

I saw a stat that teams that have got 20 points after 8 games have finished top 4 28 times, 11 of which have won the title.

Could this be our "Leicester" season ??

They actually started their "winning breeds confidence" in the season before.
They got lucky that we were the only team up there competing until we too feel apart in the last stages.

If anything, we're more like Chelsea the season after. They went from 10th to 1st. No European football. 2 rounds of the league cup before going out and a small squad/lack of changes to the main 11.

............OR one can just respect teams enough in general to deem any succession of good results to be "good form", but sure; ultimately the only form table that matters is the one after 38 games.

Of course in your world bottom can't beat top apparently.

Nothing earned playing in the toughest league in the world is easy, dont devalue what Ange and the lads are achieving to date!

After 8 games we would have played the bottom 4, an out of sorts Man Utd, a Brentford team who have won 1 in 7 to date, a Liverpool team who reduced themselves to 9 men at our place and a woolwich team at the emirates who should be title contenders. 2.5 “hard” games out of 8?

(I fully expect we will be unbeaten after the 8 games as luton are pretty poor.)

Given that last season people were saying how easy a start woolwich had and were lucky etc etc Well our start this season has been far easier.

Good for the team and fans anyway. Sure Ange is managing his own expectations.

Momentum can go a very long way in sport and we seem to have it right now anyway.

Can we beat the Conte start to least season which was our best PL start ever? 24+ points from 10 games would be the target.

:ange-pray:
What is this shit?

This is the sort of skewed way of looking at it that I would expect from a gooner.

You could skew it the other way.
* We've played 5 away and only 3 at home.
*We didn't lose at the Emirates which a guaranteed spanking most seasons.
*We beat Liverpool for the first time in what 6 seasons?
* Both Liverpool and Woolwich were bang in form when we played them.

And how exactly is it our problem that Liverpool lose all discipline and get 2 sent off?

There is a long way to go, and there will be more tests ahead but puff your chest out a bit we are top of the league. Enjoy it.
