Woeful all round.

Sanchez can’t be making that tackle first day. Emerson shouldn’t be beaten that easy.
VDV has to be blocking that piss weak shot.
Emerson more at fault there! Free kick was deep in Brentford half. One ball over the top and royal is too weak. I’m fact there was a challenge that he bottled out of earlier. Was t strong enough. If his tight with his man no way the guy gets round him. However it’s so much easier to beat your man when playing on the side you kick with. If that was kulu going down the right one he would never beat the man and two would never be able to put a ball in with his right foot. On the left he could cross first time. Our play is too slow, no movement , wide players can’t beat their man and too congested in the middle.

Yeah, this is going to be a tough season.

People wanted entertainment, well there you go.

Have to find a way to get Richarlison and Son involved more, maybe swap their positions for the 2nd half?

Brentford fans are a bit chippy, the Stoke of West London!

We need more pace. Every time Brentford get the ball they gun it on the counter attack and go for goal; every time we get the ball we near the final third then stop or go backwards. This is giving their defenders time to get back into position and close us down.

It’s about how we use the ball. We are still far too slow in getting the ball forward.

In the preseason games (where nothing was at stake) we were getting it forward quickly. Now that points are at stake they are more reluctant.

When you play a high line and high press, you have to get it forward as soon as you recover the all. Otherwise you are taking maximum risk for minimum reward.

I’d play son as striker and stick Perisic out the left
Late in the half Son moved over to the right and did start moving toward the middle. Brentford has kept their shape in the middle so putting someone in there beyond just Richarlison was a good move.
