Coulthirst? Livermore, Huddlestone and Carroll in the center? This isn't a Carling Cup replay against Stevenage, this is a European away leg at the San Siro.

Be safe everyone who is travelling out there.

Hopefully following the incidents against Lazio & Lyon away etc. the club, authorities & police, will have done their homework and made suitable security provisions for all the travelling Spurs fans.

Let's make certain the Liverpool match yesterday was just a minor blip.

COYS, quarter finals here we come!

I would like to see Coulthirst play. Strong line up besides him but I hope he plays.

You are right, my friend.

Trouble is, that do is were our squad is at, when we have a few injuries, a ban, need to rest a face or two and have loaned out e.g. Townsend.

This is the very situation for which a whole lot of us were highly sceptical when the transfer window slammed shut.

AVB keeps saying he is very happy with our squad. If so, he needs to trust Livermore, Carroll, Huddlestone and perhaps even our third choice striker Coulthirst. Either that or replace them altogether.

We need a squad which can compete on several fronts. Unless the manager and the board wanted us to leave the EUC earlier on, did they really expect it to be easy? Milano, Sct. Petersburg, Lisboa. This is what the whole cup is about at these stages.

We are three nil up, Livermore and Huddlestone are internationals and the youngsters will show more effort and desire in a game we a 3-0 up in then if we played our starting xi whose goal would be not to concede too many and to stay injury free.

I'd probably tweak it to

Lloris

Naughton Gallas, Caulker, Ekotto

Parker Livermore Carroll

Holtby Defoe Sigurdsson

Bench: Friedel, Dawson, Vertonghen, Adebayor, Dembele, Lennon, Dempsey

Unfair to Brad, but this game is important and Lloris needs games with our defenders, not rests.

It's not ideal to play full game again for Parker, but hopefully he can come off at some stage.

The likes of Holtby, Defoe and Ekotto are in somewhat poor form and need a full game, hard work and lots of confidence to get their groove back. Playing away at San Siro is hard, yes, but it's also against a team under heavy pressure, down 3-0, who are forced into attacking recklessly and with an unfriendly crowd more know for hostilities than support.
