Tomorrow night we play Maribor at The Lane. The 1882 movement will be up in Block J of the Shelf stand.

We expect a night of fantastic atmosphere in a battle of noise with the passionate Slovenian support.

We hope to match them song for song in an attempt to drive the team forward to a victory we desperately need if we’re going to make it out of the group stages of the Europa League.

The club are well aware of what the 1882 is, and what it is trying to achieve. They support us as we support the shirt. However back when we started buying tickets in Block J the club called a meeting to reaffirm the standing policy at White Hart Lane, which is currently beyond the control of the club. They have asked us to remind fans that persistent standing is not permitted. The stewards, like in any other match, will enforce these rules. They have reminded us that persistent standing could result in ejection from the stadium. They also will not accept abuse of stewards.

It’s no secret that The Fighting Cock is an advocate of the right to stand at matches, and is currently collecting responses from a survey that is canvasing supporter opinion on the introduction of safe-standing at White Hart Lane. That said we don’t want anyone to suffer ejection or worse as a result of being involved in altercations with stewards over standing due to their involvement with 1882.

We would never dream of telling anyone how to behave at a football match. We’re all Tottenham fans. A unit. We’re just passing on what the club has asked us to in the interest of building a relationship that will allow 1882 to grow.

Love the shirt.

Will those survey results be passed onto the club?

As a fan who lives in Ireland and unfortunately can only afford to attend 1-2 games a season, I have to admire the effort your making in trying to create an atmosphere. It seems this season from viewing on TV and reading on forums that the atmosphere we have been so proud of in the past has been really bad and as for the booing our own team I can only describe as shameful and embarrassing.
I was wondering why cant the club have more of an input like they did the night of the 125th anniversary game when they gave fans flags to wave. I attended an Ireland match a few years ago when a supporters group handed out flyers to fans prior to the match with the lyrics of songs on them and at what minute of the match they were going to sing them and the lyrics were also shown on the big screen at the match, this resulted in the best atmosphere at a match Ive ever attended. We need to be the 12th man again for the team not to add more pressure on them by booing them.
